Thread: Harvester bug, eating resources, when outta power and maintance

oky has anyone else had this happen to them?
You check a harvester, it has money and power. You go back to check it, but by this time it has run out of power and maintace, but the hoper only has 1 unit of a resource in it.
Yea i asked the same questions, you sure it had power/money you sure you turned it on. This has happened to me 3 or soo times here on chimeara now, i didnt think much of it,. just though i mised paid/power as i just started here and money and power both have been really tight.
My friend though has had this happen to him to and he is what got me thinking, maybe i didnt forget to pay power and they ran out and ate the resources. This never happened to me on raidant but here on chimeara its happend a few times. I also checked a harvester yesterday and it was running and i pulled out resources, today it was 5k credits in the hole. no power or money, or resources. Yet the one right next to it,, that i forgot to set the permision on still had money, and power. along with the 3 others that i did check all at the same time. I know this cuase i had 3 stacks of copper in my inventory.. and always check status when i collect..
something is just not adding up, anyone else have these problems

This just happened to me aswell, on Lowca. I had 6 harvesters getting Steel on Rori and 5 of them were fine. But the 6th one had only 1 unit and the maint had just run out. It was the ony one that had runout and it was the only one that had only 1 unit. I was not happy but what can ya do? I also lost 6 deeds lastnight in a backpack in my house, had this bug befoe never thought anythign of it and logged out. Logged in today and they still aren't back. I only have so much I can take...lol. Maybe it just wan't my day yesterday?

Hmmm, this actually happened to me recently as well, but oddly enough, it only happened to 1 of the 6 harvesters that I was running in the same location. I didn't think much of it at the time, as I just figured that harvester ran out of power right after I emptied it the last time (since there was only 1 unit in there). But I make it a habit of putting the exact same amount of power and maint in all harvesters that I lay at the same time, so it seemed strange to me as I thought about it later on that night.. And the other 5 harvesters had about 11k of resource in them, and were all in similar states of disrepair... something like 85%...

The prob. I had is the resourse died up so I switched it to a new one and went to get the 23k out of the hopper but didnt go to my inventory. Poof! My inventory was at 35% so I know I had the room, and no since in placing a ticket cuz the resourse dried up so they wont replace it. Check my harvester and inventory the next day still not there. /buged it is all I could do.

Ah so maybe I didn't forget to put maintenance on my harvester... I had this happen to me about three weeks ago. I thought maybe, just maybe that I had missed putting maitnenance on one of my harvesters. Up to this point though I had never made that kind ofmistake. I am usually quite thorough about havester maintenace and I will check the status of my harvs when I am done to make sure that they have at least 3 or 4 days of maintenance money on them. I had the same exact problem as described about, one of five harvesters had zero maint on it and was on fire when I arrived. It had just one unit of copper instead of the 15K or so that the others had. Weird...

This is definatly a BUG ! !
I just had it happen to me again on a harvester i know had less power than the others. It would have run outta power some time early this morning,.. I checked the harvesters each had 10k resources in um except the one that ran outta power, it had 1 unit the other 5 had power about 400 units left. this one was at zero and nothing was in it. Im not sure if this bug is eating power as well cuase this has happened to a few that i could swear i had power in um..
Oky guru you have a task.. get with who ever you talk to and confim this that there is a very bad/werid bug out there and tell them its infesting our harvesters please.
This isnt as bad as that awefull one we got hit with a few months back where it randomly shifted the stuff in the hopper but itsbad enough. Soo far in the last 2 weeks i have been hit with this about 10 times and probly lost between 100-150k in resources. which being on a new server this represents about 12% of the total amount i have atm. Im just struggling to make ends meet and this aint helping.

I've had the same issue this morning...
I setup a couple of ore harvesters and went to check them this morning and the maintenence was empty, and was at 92% but shut down. Opened the hopper and nothing...
I was under the impression that the machines would run without maintenence $ but after 0% would shutdown...
No?

This bug is as old as time... had this happen with some of my first harvesters (good ol' rate 2 personals...) and never could figure it out... as a newbie it shattered my plans for the day (Architect - Ore = Bored)
They know about it as I /bug'd it every time it happened. The problem is, they code the game update systems in once and they foget how they work. Each time I got the standard "We know about this problem, but our coding team isn't paid enough so it's not worth their time to fix problems only make new ones." Or something like that...
Best bet is: always put extra power and maintanence in. If you're gonna check it every two days, put 3 days of power/maint in. Server hiccups, resets, boundary problems, etc all contribute to database conflicts and errors.

Bump...
Just had this happen yesterday. I dropped two heavies on some polymer late Saturday afternoon. Both had exactly 20k maintenance and 10k of power. I went back to check on them yesterday afternoon and one extractor was fine while the other was at 92% condition and only 1 resource in the hopper.

Is it possible he clicked the "Empty Hopper" button? That button sounds like it takes everything from the hopper and places it in your inventory, but in fact it deletes everything in the hopper.
