Howdy,

Im new to artisan and I have 3 fusion generators with NO WHERE to put them! I am trying desparately to find Class 7 Radioactive... I cant even see it on my survey tool! So I was wondering if anyone has any ideas?? Ive been doing most of my collecting on Corelia...does that mean that class 7 is not on corelia at the moment, or that its gone forever? Or do I have a crappy survey tool?

Please help!

Thanks!

Whoa Whoa Whoa Slow down

If the Minerial tool doesnt show a spawn of Radioactive it may not be availbe on that specific planet... check swgcraft.com> current resources for what your looking for..

Quality doesnt metter on the tool..

I don't think you can survey radioactive anymore. I tried it once long ago, and I couldn't do it. The reason, supposedly, is that it's radioactive. It willl hurt you if you survey it. There used to be a trick where you get an artisan to survey radio active, and a medic would heal them. Same concept as tumbling. I want to say that because artisans with no medic skills (like mine) were getting hurt while surveying radioactive, and that the devs removed the ability to survey it. Luckily there are sites like www.swgcraft.com and www.swg-resources.com available to us.

I think you can sample it (at least, as of a few months ago), but you get a warning. That's not the issue here, though, it's surveying for it - finding a good spot.

I surveyed Radioactive 7 a few days ago, gave me bad mind wounds. PE is 950+ so it's lovely Will keep me going for weeks.

Just have to wait for it to spawn, sampling it will hurt you but surveying it will not.

Like they said earlier keep up with www.swgcraft.com and hit the current resources for your server. Radioactive comes in 7 classes as well and 7 is the one that pops up the least because it usually has the highest PE rating.Remember if its not on your planet it doesnt mean its not on the server. Different planets can get different spawns

i harvest a lot of radioactives to make money

if its not shown on your survey tool then that simply meens that it isnt available on that planet at the moment.

i find there are usually around 4 (give or take) different radioactives on my server (chimeara) at one given time so you may not find the class you are looking for at the moment. sods law says that the one you want wont spawn!

www.swgcraft.com is brilliant for finding any reasource and is more oftern than not very up to date.

once you find some rads you can sample them as usual but you have to override the safety thingy when you sample.....you are given this option when you press sample. be warned tho you may get some nasty wounds, i have found that the higher PE the worse the wounds tho this may be a fluke....i have on more than one occation been landed incapped by it! less harmful way of sampling is to plant a harvester and then remove one unit from the hopper to take a look at it.

To be clear:

You can Survey (find a waypoint) any Radioactive just like any other resource.

You can Sample (hand mine) Radioactives, but you will get wounded doing so.

Have you tried it lately? A technique I used to use to help out entertainers (and medics) was to hand sample once or twice some radioactive go get a good amount of wounds.

I tried it a couple nights ago and only took damage - not wounds.

I do not recall reading in any patch notes that this was changed, but it wouldn't be the first time something was changed without telling us.

My suggestions if you want to stay on top of radioactive spawns.

1) swgcraft.com is a great site, but many times it is one or two days behind on resource spawns. If you really want to get on a shift fast, perhaps be the first one on that 90% spot, then survey for it yourself on a daily basis.

2) Use survey droids. Get yourself a bunch of crates of survey droids. They are cheap. Shoot them off each day to each planet assuming you don't want to travel there to look. Check what radioactives come up on the report. If a planet has a new radio in shift travel there and sample it to check it out.

3) Sampling radioactive as others have said will cause damage. It was nasty wound damage up till recently but not sure what it is now. Either way, why chance it? Just keep a personal mineral harvestor on you at all times. Drop the personal mineral harvestor when you find a percentage of what radioactive your looking for. Consider this a personal radioactive sampler instead of a personal mineral harvestor. But easy to drop, does not need much room, and the cost to drop and pick up, drop and pick up, is minimal. Only hassle is taking up a spot in your inventory and having to have one lot open.

A great Class 7 Radioactive just shifted in and out on Radiant. PE and OQ well over 900's, Decay was almost 800. Great for crafting stuff that needs radioactive.

Good luck.

i believe certain types of radioactives affect you in different ways. when i was a noob (months ago) i remember soem radioactive causing wounds, and another just damage, but another type actually gave me a negative modifier to my stats for a few minutes (around -250 maybe)

This is another shipwright doublestandard. The new "high grade polymetric" radioactive, that is used by shipwrights for crafting, won't give wound (just damage). All other radioactives still give wounds and battle fatigue if you sample them.
