Thread: artisan question
I have just gotten to Eng II and was looking forward to making some of the new schematics that I now have at my disposal. Since I am gearing toward Droid Engineer I was going to make a Droid repair kit. This is the first item I have come across that has optional ingredients in the recipe to create. Of course I enjoy practicing on experments and I want to make the best items I can to hopefully build a reputation in game for creating quality products(since I put my name on all my creations). Well I look in inventory and I do not have the schematics to build the optional components, which are things like power cells, etc. I went to a droid specific crafting station and used my droid and general weapon crafting tool thinking I would get the schematics that way. Still no luck. Does this mean that I am not high enough on the Eng ladder to get the ability to make these optional components and I will have to buy or trade for them until i get higher up or am I missing something? Thx in adv for the help.

The repair kits all need optional components to create, but unfortunately you won't be able to make those components until you climb the ladder into an advanced career. The Droid Storage Unit schematic is given to you when you get to the first level of Droid Engineer. As far as the other two, I'm not sure which class gets them, or what level you need to be to create them.
So in short, you won't be able to make any of the repair kits until you're in an advanced class. If you can find them in the bazaar, I'd pick them up (if they're cheap).
Thanks for the reply, I was right then, Oh well back to the grind

One way to relieve the grind is to try selling the items you can make through the bazaar. You have 25 slots, and at 20cr an auction its not terribly expensive. You still need to do a lot of grinding to get through the base disciplines, but it can be fun trying to find a product, price, and location that you can sell at. Since a crafter doesnt need much money, you can meet your travel needs with even a modest income.
I never got rich selling the simple items through the bazaar, but it was interesting and fun and broke up the grind a little.
