I'll sign not because this patch was good for me, or did anything to harvesters that I noticed (I keep mine powered up and maintained) but because it'll probably make some of the powercrafters that sell their lousy ground items on the bazaar for 50-75% of what everyone else is selling them for. Thus, people who dont know better buy their cheap stuff, and all the honest crafters have to run delivery missions to make ends meet instead of improving our craft.

As I said somewhere else, combat types that charge nests of red con mobs tend to die. Crafters that ignore market forces are basically doing the same thing, and should suffer the same fate.

Forget levelling. Play your business. The XP will come.

Harvesters still need to be fixed, especially the energy level status indicator, but I think the patch fixed a real exploit. It's made mining into a challenge that can be rewarding, but takes time and planning to achieve good results. I think it's great.

Now, if only the next patch could fix droid engineer!

Actually, fixing survey missions would be cool too!

Oh, and the Rori delivery missions... what the heck's up with those? 300 credits to take something to Dathomir or Endor? Yeah, right. It's 600 credits just to get your butt off that rock over to Naboo.

Just put the harvesters on a different system.

I enjoy the overall new challenge of things though.

When I first started using the patch I was a quite peeved that I couldn't sample as much. Then I realized that this meant that resources couldn't be extracted so easily which means we don't see a gu-zillion crappy items on the bazaar. For the first time since I started playing this game I am now making DECENT money. I can now charge a higher price for quality items that I experiment on and people are willing to pay for them. And all because it's harder to sample resources.

EXCELLENT FIX!!!

I think this new patch may make some "Powergamer" work "harder" to earn a honest living.

However, as of deleting some items we, the Artisan, make if we don't "maintain" our character...I don't know. My personal feeling is that we may have problem in the future. Some of us may play for a few month and found the game "boring" and decide to leave. Then the house andharvester that we build will be deleted as well?! How about those house we build for others? Like a PA house?? Would the new patch affect that?

Also, what if we want to stay in the same galaxy but playing a different race? (Staying on the same galaxy because we made our friends here.) We can't delete our character becuase items we built will be deleted as well, right?? Wouldn't this kind of "upset" our customers, our friends?? Then again, this is just my 2 cent opinion.

Whenver I hear about the harvester complaints, I really had to wonder how long those people expected to be able to run a big mining facility on 10 creds and 25 power, sucking up steel/aluminum/copper/ore until it burned down.

Here's my off-the-wall theory on what happened to the harvesters. SWG just came out. Everyone was new. There was *no* economy, since people were just working their way up the skills they were interested in. What do characters need? Weapons, armor, instruments, clothing, tools, meds, etc. What's required for these items? Resources. With a brand new user base, there was no way to get that bottom layer of resources without anti-nerfing sampling (sofresh-off-the-ship artisans on June 27th could get supplies) and harvesting (for themore resource-intensive items the next week).

So I don't see this patch as a nerf. I don't even see it as an exploit fix. I see it as a change to the intended long-term behaviorfrom an abnormal state (deliberately induced)required to kick-start the economy.

Oh, just to be clear, I have no affiliation with LucasArts, SOE, or even the Beta testing. I have no clue as to whether the above theory has any relation to reality. But it makes sense to me, and if the Devs did do it that way for that reason: Thanks for getting things started quickly, and thanks for putting things back to normal when it was no longer needed.

I think the harvester and power requirements are acceptable.

I don't like the fact that both my harvesters broke down after only havesting 43 units, when previously the would produce 2.5k plus before breaking down. I can sample 43 units in 2 minutes.
