Thread: Why Dont Custom Names Stick to Vehicles?

Technically, you're only making the deed.
Once you use the deed, the object takes on it's default name.
This is true of structures, too.
And yes vehicle material cost never made sense since its more then a small house in materials.

Think of vehicle deed as a title that your getting from the artisan. Where the finished product is waiting for pickup.

Those deeds are very heavy and won't pass through a metal detector without setting it off.

since when does it take 8,000units of minerals to make a "deed"????
simply limit number of characters in name. easy fix.

Because then instead of barking droids or AFK barkers at starports, they'd be littered with Swoops named:
"Go to -4403 4194 for phat lewt!"
"Swoops just like me can be bought for only 10k at 551 -9011!"
"Warryyr Sucks"
and so forth....
In other words, it would give everyone the ability to "bark" for their shops by leaving their Swoop out at starports. You would see walls of them when leaving a starport or loading into one. The lag would be tremendous. Moreso than now. And it would circumvent the purpose of a barking astromech.
Nevertheless, I agree that naming vehicles would be cool. I was also very disappointed to realize that the Swoops I made weren't distinguishable from another once called from the deed.
I think we need more models of vehicles. The characteristics can be identical to existing vehicles, but just a different skin. Because everyone having a Swoop is really really really really boring. Really. Ideally we'd need about 10 new vehicle models at least. Otherwise, everyone would get the new model and we'd be right back to the Swoop clone wars.

you cant name it but If you are only concerned with distinguishing it from others use a customization kit.

yeah you could do that, but its not the same. Why not just give us names? I'm willing to adapt to somethings and work around stuff, but something as simple as this, there no reason not to. and it would add a little "cool" factor to the game.
