I am getting ready to start a character that I am gonna eventually turn into master weaponsmith and master armorsmith. I would like to know is there is anything other than the bonuses you get as you advance in the trees that will affect the total number of experimentation points I can get. Is the max number that you can get 10 or 12? Also is it 1 point per 10% in experimentation rounded down? I am guessing that there are some skill tapes out there that add +s to this. I have not seen and species bonuses that affect this, is that correct or not? Thanks.

As a master artisan I have 11 experiement points. Or so it says. However, the most I've ever been able to use is 10. I always have one left over regardless of the resourcesI am working with. Can some of you long time artisans help a newb out?

are you a human? i believe you ge an extra experimentation point or something like that.

Yes human.
I have 11 total points priot to experiementation. But so far I've never been able to use the extra point. I've only been able to use 10. No matter the resource.

yeap....humans get this extra experimentation point...but for some reason it's pretty much useless. Even if you get a small failure, it blacks out at least two of the experimentation points. So basically it's moot. though i really did wish it would make the difference.

What are you experimenting on? For most items, 10 points is just enough to max out a single experimental category in the mid-to-high 90s if you get all great successes. So if you're doing weapon powerups (which only have the one category) you're going to have an extra point. However, for things like CDEFs, bone armor, food, and (if you care about hopper size) personal harvestersyou can max outone category and have a point to put into another.

It matters on a few things.. CDEF weapons for example.. maybe some food too.

Ok this is off the Shadowfire board:

Now my question is that as a master doc, if I put this in my clothes will I end up w/11 medical experimentation points. Or is doctor hard capped at 10 experimention points max?

Every 10 pts will give you an additional Experimentation point, with supposedly a hard cap at +25 for a total of 2 extra points.

yes 11 experimentation points and a cap at 25
5 million is very cheap buy it
