Thread: Guruweaver I want a Master Artisan only profession!!!

Guys, I'm proposing that we think of a new profession that goes beyond Master Artisan.

Call it "Craftsman" Profession.

Give it more items to craft that help support other Crafting Professions.

Let us specialize in electronics, powerups, clothing add-ons, armor add-ons, and of course, more vehicles!

Make one row an Experimentation row, at the fourth level we get the "Expert Craftsman" title.

Make an Electronic Engineering Row, call its master level title "Inventor" or "Technologist"

Make a Food/Clothing row, call its master level title "Item Specialist" or something (kinda dorky, i can't think of one!)

Make a Business Row, call it "Shopkeeper".

At the master level, we get Craftmaster or Master Craftsman title.

Think up some cool items that could be crafted that aren't technically taking away from other professions. Think of making add-ons and kits for other crafter items, like an Armor Polishing Kit, a speeder toolkit, weapon holsters and sheathes, better weapon powerups, etc. (along with more customization kits for armor, clothing, weapon, paint kits for house walls, carpeting for houses!)

We should also get a work station/crafting station called a "Workbench", where we can put on our powerups, craft our kits, and do our new stuff. We should also get to use some of the tools used in the movies, like hydrospanners, to assist in our crafting. Allow us to make clothing refitting and altering, like adding extra pockets, zippers, raising or lowering hems and stuff, to the already tailored item.

Tell me what you think!!! I'm tired of being "Master Artisan" and only using it for speeders.

My sig doesn't say it, but my Master Artisan is on Ahazi, Valkk the tailor/tka/master artisan.

thats not a bad idea. i like the powerups and skill attachments comment, but the experimentation should be crafting so that with this profession there is a possibilities to craft uber powerups but only with good resources.

Yeah that is a good idea, it would sort of be like merchant, in a way.

I'd vote for all those idea's to instead be split up and spread amongst the existing elite crafting proffs.

Anything merchant related should go to merchant. The class as it stands is only half a class as is, it needs more content to become something viable.

Tailors have been asking forever for meaningfull experimentation and the ability to make things like clothing skill attachments. They're dying for new content. Weapon holsters have been on the tailor list of things they want to make for a looooong time.

All the crafting proffs are dying for new content. Creating a whole new, half finished and buggy crafting proffession isn't a good idea. Adding new things to make and do, and fixing all the bugs (half of which have been in existance since beta) for all the existing crafting proffs is what they should be spending time and effort on.

It's a tough thing, to be honest.

I'm unconvinced that a new profession will fix the problem. I've been lobying for Master Artisan to mean something other than a few schematics.

I see us filling a number of potential roles:

Miner
Field repair tech (imagine the ability to fix anything in the field)
Jack of all trades crafter

Etc.

What do y'all think?

I think they should combine the Merchant skill tree with a Master Crafter skill tree. One branch will handle vendors (both the number you can have and what verbals and clothing you can give them...this should all be one branch), one will handle efficiency such as the Merchant skill tree does currently, the third will grant new schematics (such as new vehicles, etc - please provide your imput - I would like to see a Master Crafter able to build a terminal that will inform one of resource shifts and new spawns), and the forth will be the experimentation branch that will allow us to craft better versions of our current schematics.

The kicker would be that ALL the merchant abilities, such as advertising and vendors, etc. Would only be allowed if you KEEP the skills (unlike now). This would actually provide a reason to keeping Merchant/Craftsman around and make us much more valuable in the overall economy.

My 2 cents.

yea master artisan needs to go, all the eletronic componets need to go to de, as for your food/weapon/armor/clothing they are all allready handled by there respective professions and skill tapes and omg if you give food power ups to a eliter artisan your gonan have some very pissed off be's (thats only 5 of us but hey). i say make master artisan use full, get rid of that usless bird cage, and that stupid shyt you get at master, give the de's there components ( it sucks havin to be a master art and master de to make a droid and lil points left over for medical or combat )

i personally think master artisan should get the painting schematics and that stuff insted of architects (since when does a archie paint)

I think that they should change the name of droid engineer into something that will allow them to build all the different electric stuff like vechiles droids as well as things like advanced crafting tools

would be interesting if we could create little widgets and such that we could use to improve an item, even if temporarily. Kind of like tinkering......i once made my old powerglove into a working VR visor......why could't we take some parts and make other things out of them? give us somthing to do with diabled items?

Take uber gun A....it has just been trashed......Then we take OK gun B, and combine the broken parts that may still be usable from uber gun A (lets say we dismantle it for spare parts and get a random chance of getting several parts from it), then combine uber gun A's parts to OK gun B using a "Workbench" and coming out with Good Gun C. (still available for slice). Maybe if all we did was lower some of the HAM cost, or increase ranges (which slicing cannot do i don't think).
