Thread: New Tailor question
I am planning to raise tailoring (and basically just tailoring) as a way of complimenting my dancer skills. I enjoy crafting (For those familiar with DAoC, I have a LGM tailor, armorcrafter and close to that fletcher and spellcrafter, so I'm used to tedious crafting.
)
My question, though, is are there any "short cuts" for skilling at this point? Not macros, I understand you can't do those. But I've just made my first few "casual shirts", and it took MULTIPLE mouse clicks to make a single item, and a long time because of that. I'm really wondering at the wisdom of my choice if to make each item I have to click, click, click all over the place. Is there a way to make something (macro, short cut, whatever) so that I can make the same item repeatedly while skilling up so long as I have the materials needed to make it?
Any other advice for a young tailor is also always appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Buy a factory.
Not sure anymore if the XP payoff is the same as doing it by hand... it was full and then dropped to 1/10th by the end of beta.
Be sure to make at least 3 of the crafting kits that you will be useing. Drag eaach one to an open slot on your hotbar so you can simple press the F whatever key to open it up and you dont have to wait for each kit to recycle that way as well.
For example, i have mine set up so that f1, f2 and f3 are all general crafting kits. I start by pressing f1 which opens up the 1st kit, i load all the ingredieants up, then just hit enter a few times to get through the crafting screens. Then i hit f2 while the 1st one is makeing the 1st item. So on and so forth.
You can also disable the confirmation box in your options menu, so be sure to do that as its one less click to have to deal with.
Ok, what good does buyinga factory do me?
And that's a great idea about the multiple crafting kits, but that doesn't save me mouse clicks. Its the carpal tunnel inducing system that I'm worried about. To make a single item right now, it takes TEN mouse clicks!!! (Yes, I counted.)
I've just started playing my tailor and I have a question. What are sockets for and how do I use them?
Sorry if it's a newb question, but that's what I am.
People can find "gems" or skill powerups and they can only be put in socketed items and they are permanent. So, if somebody finds a +2 of (just a crazy example) attack then they can drag it into a socketed clothing and now that shirt or whatever has +2 to attack.
You guys are great! Thank you for taking the time out to answer my question. Do you think having the optional to the clothing or fabric is a big plus? Maybe I'll try to get my husband to stick to the bio-engineer root for me so I can test it out.
