Basically, as title..
I'm making millions of them as i progress up the artisan/architect tree.. i'm thinking it would it be worth me placing them getting the resources i can from them, rather that just wasting/practicing them, but dont want to have to pay out loads in maintainance..
do they still operate as they degrade?

Personally, I'd say you should save up for a house and put them on a vendor, or just sell them for pittance on the bazaar like everyone else. On my way up the artisan skill tree I made quite a bit in selling mine off cheap. Also, if you're going up the architect tree, try crafing gungan statue heads, you get more xp from them than harvesters.
As for your question, I don't think they start with any maintainance on them, but will work for a while (don't quote me I could very well be wrong). Once a harvester goes under 100 percent condition it will stop harvesting. I've read however that if you repair them after that you can actually retreive the amount of resources that would've been harvested if it was in top condition.
Hope that helps.

you forgot to mention at 0% condition, it blows up (if you don't bother in paying it anymore)

I looked in the FAQ but I couldnt find info on whether the harvester would actually run without maintainance whist it was deteriorating.. said it would on stratics, but apparently it wont..

If you could run harvesters without maintenance.........
(see if you can guess the next line)
...why the heck would anyone pay maintenance? Let's think before we post.

perhaps to stop them degrading/becoming damaged/collapsing???
everyone else can read the post properly and manage a sensible reply, but it seems there is always one moron on these boards ready to post something completely pointless in the aim of scoring a few points

I have to disagree, it was not pointless at all. I responded to your question and was very on-topic.

you replied to the subject of the post, not what i was asking in the post..
you were just needlessly abrasive in your reply..
FYI from what i can find, harvesters did used to function this way, and i had "thought before posting"..

I think this has reached the silly point. Ok, fine, for two weeks there was an exploit allowing you to run harvestors without money. Regardless, the answer to your question is no, they will now not work without maitainance. If you don't have a use for all the harvestors you are making you could sell them cheap on the bazzar to help out the noobs, or use practice mode.
