Thread: Paint Kits Need to Go Back to Formula

I was extremely excited about customizing my vehicle ......keyword"was". The novelty is gone and we are left with a feature that took up valuable development time and is going to be nothing more than a fad because of theshort 1-2 day duration. I, like many of you, want a permanent paint job that doesn't wash off after one rain storm on Dathomir. In the real world, your paint shop would'vebeen out of business after day 2 when everyone came back demanding a refund. This is a game, so the only consequence will be very low sales because no one will see the bang for theirbuck. So IMO while trying to give the artisans more business you've basically given them another worthless item in the long run. Please take this paint back to formula and bring us a paint job that lasts the life of the vehicle with proper maintainence (speeder washes in the garage for 5-10 credits).

Thanks,

Yeah, that was pretty disappointing. "Your vehicles customization fades a little more." **edit**!? I just painted this **edit** yesterday....

well, i agree totally

pls check on artisan board about my posts before the patch wehn many artisans were so "exited" about repeat business and even blamed me for saying that this fading is crap. lol

now many will realise how silly this fade idea is. i said it before and i say it now, this coloring was same way like with droids, and it holds 20 calls´. zes its call dependant and not time dependant. in other words after 20 McDnalds drives your color is gone.

now the devs say they will extent this fading, we can only hope they dont just double it to 40 calls. that wont bring more at all. make it like 2000 calls and all is fine

Ya ever compare the customization of vehicle to droid? Wouldn't it be nice to have a nag prompt appear for your vehicle telling you, the customization has faded? As if it isn't obvious and we needed a reminder, lol. I guess this is a handicap feature for the colorblind.

Or have it call a different color each time?

If your paint lasts 1-2d on your x34 your luckier than me, mine didn't last but one call after it got hooked up on the archway betwen the bank and med, in Coronet, it reverted to orangish/brown again.

Idiots are testing and making SWG, slobbering greasy-faced IDIOTS! I'm no better. Might as well apply for their jobs and label myself that. But I do read and think, something they mustn't do on a regular basis over there on TC.

Why else would this tool disappear into the vaccuum of the bazaar?

Yeah, I know where it is, but it took me 1hr to find it, so I guess that makes me slow.

I don't think that the fading is the only problem with these things. I pretty much refuse to make them for people because the itmes required to make them are more trouble than they are worth. I believe it takes 3 subcomponents as well as some raw materials. Why do I see this as a problem? Well because Paint is well, a chemical, and maybe I would need a few diffrenet types of chemicals to create paint. My real problem comes in that speeders (read cars) are made of metal, and plastic, and rubber, and glass, and etc. but all it takes to make them in galaxies is some rusty metal and some non rusty metal.

Done ranting.

but for me personally I will never make paint kits

Wait til they bring in Capital Ships, we store in our pocket, that require 10000000u of Fiberplast. Can't wait can you?

The devs need to put down the pipe and stop coming up with these retarded "ideas". The pain should remain until the player decides he wants to change colors. No one is going to bother with this painting nonesense after a few weeks! The devs were told this but they stubornly refused to lesten.....we can chalk this up to yet another stupid dev failure.......

Well, this fading thing does make sense, we just weren't told about one key point... the paint we are using is watercolors, not oil-based paints!

the paint we are using..

Would youwant to put lube oil in this schematic? I would. Isn't a Vehicle toolkit? Don't people lube vehicles?

That would be logical.
