Thread: armor as fashion, not functionality

armor in game is primarily for its function as a means of protection, however, i am sure many of you have noticed that many players in game ask for armor in all sorts of different colors to compliment clothing palettes, where as the palettes of gloves and boots in tailoring are extremely limited. not to mention padded just looks well cool.

has there been any talk on this forum, any words from developers about allowing non-certified players to wear armor as just a 'shell' without any protection, so that we can have our unique outfits back as it was before CU where we could wear armor just for the sake of fashion?

i would be very interested to see where this idea could go. currently on the tailoring forums a lot of tailors are asking for extended color palettes (well, actually, we always have been, but it has been brought up again recently) however, i have always liked the unique look a piece of armor can add to a simple outfit.

thank you for reading and listening.

There's going to be (supposedly, and hopefully) and Ent revamp soon.. one of the suggestions has been the ability to "turn to prop" any weapon or armor. It would function as clothes after that, and become as the ability to suggest, just props. I think this is a great idea, and would give ents an alternate form of income, being able to sell their props at a vendor.

Just a thought.

I totally agree about protection! I just meant that in addition, props would be a neat way to mix looks with armor. But I definately think that in addition there should be some kind of basic armor so crafters can check harvies without cloning, etc.

I still don't understand why it's changed to them not able to wear it at all? At least the basic stuff.. like the suit is too complicated or heavy or something? Must be magic

I think novice doc would be the best fit - battle armor cert and the ability to heal will keep you alive for some time on non adv planets...

I did the missions for Stoos at Dant mining outpost and after the third mission he gives you Padded Armor chest piece. I did these missions before CU and the armor was about 30% and now it's 100/100 and could wear it ,even though I can't wear my padded armor I had before CU. Are there anymore quest armor out there?
