That was a "temporary" bug fix that got left in from a long time ago. They finally removed it when the CURB hit.

rumor has it that it will be returned to patch the problem with armor coming out of crates with default colors though.... either that or colorization kits (ie droid/vehicle/ship customization kits)

Still just rumor until its in place though
