I, along with a few other AS's on Bria, are considering opening "chain stores" around Bria. The general concept is this.Armor, made cheaply, can be sold cheaply, and as long as it is consistently available, sales will be steady and the profits will good.
My conceptual plan is this. Outside of at least one major city on the major planets, we will open a shop. Each shop will 3 smiths who concentrate on ONE type of armor for that shop.
For instance:
Outside Mos Eisley, we set up a shop. Fiore, Idena, and Oriha are the Armorsmiths who produce for that shop.
Fiore makes Assualt armor.
Idena makes Battle armor.
Oriha makes Recon armor.
Should one of those smiths decide to make factional armor, it can also be sold in that store. If none of them want to sell faction, then the option is left for someone else to set up a factional vendor and sell from that store. This way, no one is competing with another smith from within the same store. I would also like to encourage each smith to stock Wookie and Ithorian armor of their specialty. The idea is to employ a large number of AS's while not overloading them and also providing a non-competative market within each shop.
Should the aforementioned smiths want to sell other types of armor, they are free to do so ON THEIR OWN. However, the idea for this is to provide Bria with effective, affordable armor on a consistent basis. To this end, ( and this will be an advertising point) all sets will be no more than 300k per set ( most AS's already sell for lower than this, so I don't really see this as being a problem ). THIS IS THE ONLY STIPULATION! Or catch if you prefer to look at it as such.It would be encouraged to keep the price 200-250k per set, but that is the personal decision of the Smith. Even in worst case pricing scenarios, you should always be able to make 100k+ profit per suit. I know for some smiths, that's low. But the lower the costs of the sets, the more people can afford to come back and buy, hence the more profit you eventually get.
The stores will be opened to include other crafters as well, but as I am an AS.. I am focusing mostly on the armor aspect for right now. The benefits of the store are numerous: Exposure, advertisement, an established name, association with well known smiths, etc. As well,I have tailors lined up to provide steady runs of Fabrics. Ranger guilds will be contracted to deliver specific hides as needed. The overall idea is to make this as simple on the Smiths as can possibly be.
The name of the chain will be The Fair Trade Market. Each store may have a different name, such as "Tusken Wench - A Fair Trade Market Store" so you may advertise or distinguish yourself. The individual name will be the choice of the smiths who work there.
This is open to all who are interested, and I'm sure you noticed, I haven't listed any specific costs or profit margins in here. This is intentional. I don't generally discuss my profit margins/costs etc in any open forum. If you wantthe worst case scenario of cost/profit under these conditions, contact me and I'll detail it out for you. I think you'll be very happy with the numbers.
My IGN is Fiore. I would ask that you send me an e-mail detailing what major city you live closest to ( or which one you'd like to sell close to, i.e. Theed, Coronet, Bestine, etc. ) and whether you are a brand new smith or are an established smith. All are encouraged to apply! Thereare no guild or faction requirements ( although I will start a guild under the Fair Trade name for those who might be interested ).
As of right now I have openings in the following places:
Mos Eisley:
Armorsmith - Assault - Filled
Armorsmith - Battle - Filled
Armorsmith - Recon - Filled
Theed:
Armorsmith - Assault
Armorsmith - Battle
Armorsmith - Recon - Filled
Coronet:
Armorsmith - Assault
Armorsmith - Battle
Armorsmith - Recon
If you want to open a store on a new planet such as Talus, Dantooine, or Lok etc.( or around another city on these planets ), simply state that I'll try to pair you up with other Smiths who may want to work on those same planets as well.

If you're up for a little patting of each other's back, I say you open a store and we'll advertise for each other ![]()
Ah, resources... Talk to the major resource dealers ( the ones with the HUGE fields.... ) It'll take a bit to get started... I know. But in the end... It's worth it. I do need to get a ranger guild worth it's salt though instead of just random hunter friends that I nag constantly for stuff...lol

Great idea. I had thought along the same lines for our guild. -V-. We currently have about 4 armorsmiths that are getting started. Gathering resources is the killer!

I cross-posted to Bria Forums ( thanks for the reminder ) and edited to reflect positions that have been filled.
C'mon! More people! Let's get this rolling!
BTW... if anyone knows a good reliable Ranger guild... post here or PM me. I've got a few on the table, but I'm always looking for alternatives.

you are being a jerk and inconsiderate to the armorsmith commnuity by posting galaxy realted stuff here, you don't need to bump this and it should have never been posted here in the first place
there are 20+ galaxies and if we all posted our little buisiness ideas here the first page would be littered with them. this doesnt go here, you thanking me for the bump was rude and inappropriate. You should have never been bumping this either.,
There have been more than one thread locked or deleted that are similar to this. I would report you as abuse for mindlessly bumping this POS thread but my work server won't allow popups or I would
