Thread: What is with experimentation

can someone explain to me why i am only able to experiment to 91% on everything even tho i have 2-4 points leftover every time? I have +20 exp and + 20 as. do i need more tapes or do the resources cap how high i am able to get my experimentation
and what is the little bars below the experiment boxs? My layers are coming off at +45/ -46 and my segments come off at 1103 / 735 so what am i doing wrong what can i do better to get higher numbers

And another line to experiment on would be rather nice as well.

Easiest way to put it is, even if you had 40 points, resources still cap somewhere. So at 91% experimentation, that is the max those resources can be experimented to. If your resource was 500 oq and 500 sr you could bring that to 50% no matter what... Make sense??

makes since but my resources would have to be all @ 995 or better to get really uber stuff then?

In other words, Layers and Segment can NEVER be maxxed outUNLESS you use OQ1000+SR1000 resources.

Not exactly. You'll hit the stat cap on your cores before you hit the experimentation cap on segments and caps determined by your resources. I can cap recon cores with 965 segments. I can cap assault cores with only 908 segments. I can cap battle with 928 segments (I think). So "perfect" resources would be a waste; only very, very good ones are needed to hit the cap.
The exception would be layers, which function independently of the caps on cores and essentially add their bonus to the stats of the final armor, not the core.
