Gotta say im enjoying myself now as Armoursmith (see, I spelt it correctly )...the grind was utter tedium and almost put me off crafting for life (needs to be addressed devs!...id like to see you try and grind it)...but now im in the resource gathering stage and starting to make fairly decent armour.

Its still not perfect...still have to wait for some great spawns before I can make nicer Battle and Assault, but I can start on Recon now and am looking forward to loading up a vendor with it all.

Admittedly I had a head start, as I made a whole heap of money as a Krayt Farmer pre-cu..so ive been able to go out and buy pretty much all the resources I need in bulk, but still setting it all up is actually nice. The experimenting is a bit basic which is a shame, as it all depends on resource quality so rather than using AS skills its more of a mining/resource gathering skill which gets the best results.

I still have layers, RIS and Faction crafting to look forward too..and building up the business but its all feeling good! I know there are issues but there always is...just gonna have to make things by hand for a while till the powers that be sort it out.

Too bad you didn't try it Pre-CU then. It was much more fun

I had plenty of fun then being a Master Krayt Hunter... ...but yeah, it probably was more fun but we've gotta live with it now I guess, so im going to make the most of it. I was making money at a nice rate before the CU, need to find a way to keep that up.

Good luck to you! Hope you continue to have a good experience with Armoursmith..... Ps, totally agree that having a big bank balance behind you makes a massive difference to start up.... I didn't! *ouch*

I've started my Armorsmith from scratch when I bought the total experience. I had no money (I only had 100k on my other toon at the time! ). I've been able to farm resources, grind and get a great start (about to the point you are) and I really love this profession. These forums are a great help and I've been studying them since before the CU to make sure I did it right.

It's a great proffession!...now if I can find some chanlon ore for less than 1000 cpu to do the RIS quest!

The headaches of figuring out the perfect combination of resources pre-CU was what got me hooked.
I once spent 4 hours tring to make a single schematic! LOL

But yeah, post-CU isn't all that bad.

Very over-simplified, but still some fun.

And, welcome to the community!
