Thread: Alternate bone armor question....

I was just curious as to how high the kinetic special protection could be on a set of bone armor. Also, for a highly protective fullsuit of bone that protects against kinetic damage, what would the approximate price be? Are many special components needed to change bone armor's kinetic vulnerability to a decent rating of special protection? Thank you for whatever help you can offer....

bone armor cant have good kinetic protection.

since it is a vulnerability, it can only be increased by using layers.

i dont know how many layers advanced or interwoven bone armor segments take, but i bet its not more then 2.

so the best kinetic protection you can get is 14% or 29%.

thats it

bone armor is perfect to max energy protection. so go for 80% energy, grab a psg, and grind faction, hehe

Using Voritor Scales or Voritor Segments you'll get to about 6% kinectic in Bone Armor.

If you really want to attempt it, then I would go interwoven bone armor, use a green geo cube to add condition (otherwise, what's the point of armor that dies quick), and use up 14% kinetic layers, and then use either a voritor scale or a krayt scale with high kinetic.

You might hit in the 30's or so, maybe more.

To be honest, it is easier to make 80% energy bone armor than 80% kinetic, and for some real fun, use NS shards and energy layers, and red geo cubes to make 80% energy weightless bone armor....

If you want high kinetic in a light weight armor, go for Chitin. You won't be able to get bone all that high.

Thank you very much for all of the suggestions. To be honest, I am not an armorsmith... I am a player that likes to stay very much in character though. Since my character is very primitive, I avoid using all advanced forms of armor with him. Other than occasional use of Ubese, I have mastered both pikeman and creature handler professions wearing only a robe. So I am not looking to find the best kinetic armor, I am just merely curious to see if having a smith make a suit of bone armor with some kinetic protection is feasible. I noticed some bone armor leggings with at least 11% special protection on the bazaar, but was curious as to how difficult and expensive this was to make....

Chitin is not a bad suggestion.

Actually, I have an even better suggestion for you, now that I know this is for role play.

Find the details and do the Marauder themepark on Endor. You get some semi-decent, very primal-looking armor from that quest... think Mabari if it was cobbled together from stuff laying around in a junkyard...

I think I am familiar with that armor. But doesn't it just offer some melee defense bonus, and no actual protection (I may be confusing this with something else)? I am willing to pay anything reasonable for bone armor with at least 10% special protection and some sockets, but I am starting to have the feeling most smiths will not bother with this request. I do not know why, but I am just very fond of how bone pieceslook on my character...

If you aren't really concerend with high kinetic, get some Krayt scales with decent kinetic protection and have your armorsmith of choice make it that way.

I think Chitin looks pretty damn primative if you ask me. One of the reasons I woulnd never craft it before.

Ha ha! sounds like my chitin.
It would have some high kin when I first started , was sweet. I love thatrusted bashed up look.
I was ether calling it (Trusty Rusty Chitin) or (Side of (insert guild member's name here) Ship)
tough armor, and people got a hoot outta it.

Marauder Armor is actual armor, though it only has leggings, left and right biceps, and chest piece. It has 30% kinetic resist, along with I think 20% of energy and some others. Not too bad if you aren't concerned with the protection, and looks cool too.
