Hi there,
I never was Armorsmith and until know I just bought the armor that I saw at vendors that looked kinda good to me.
Now, since I am doing much unbuffed combat I usually use encumbrance sliced Ubese. I know that padded armor exists and I know some people actually wear it, though when they do more for fashion considerations than for its actual protection.
No I wish to know a few things about it:
Since I mostly do low level faction missions I need an armor that has a better energy protection than Ubese, even at the cost of less kinetic protection. A PSG alone somehow does not do the trick. Since most armor smithes do not have resources in stock do craft good padded armor I need to know what I would need, how good padded can become when you craft it this or that way and if you know any special (Ackley or Krayt dragon) resources to make them better in one or the other way.
Oh, and a chart with its possible colours would be nice to have, if you got one.

Padded can be made up to 80% energy /50% or more base with no looted components, but AS need really uber resourses ( Yavinian wooly and Lokian leathery hides , corelian fiberplast, cubirian steel and other- best on server stuff). So if you want good padded you need to find a padded specialist .

I dont have a screen shot of the padded armor color chart, but I can tell you it is a large one, with many different colors, reds, blues, greens, its all in there. I think it uses the same or similar color palete as dress slacks or paramil camos for tailor. Its by far the most colorful armor.

Yes,you can check tailor'scolour palette , colours are the same. I make padded parts for girls to mach with their clothes, and it looks like one sute.
