Ok, I have the components to get an RIS piece, and i want a helm. I was wondering, Can i just grind armorsmith and make it myself? Some person said something about needing 3 pieces of each if i did that... I dont quite understand.

is that a RIS FAQ i see at the top of the forum....? I do believe it is!!

Getting enough components to make RIS can take longer than it does to grind armorsmith.

I already read the faq. BTW, i have the componenets already. But it doesnt answer the question about if I grind Armorsmith, why it would take 3 components... instead of 1 each.

This from the RIS FAQ AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE (yes, it really is all there if you read closely)

For the segment you need

160 Titanium aluminum

160 Chanlon Intrusive ore

75 Rori fiberplast (we just had a good shift of this)

1 woolymander bone fragment

1 gurk king hide

YOU WILL LOSE THE SEGMENT! You need to give it to the snotty greedy bothan in order to obtain the layer schematic.

LAYER

135 polysteel copper

85 Laboi mineral crystal crystalline gemstone

100 oridium intrusive ore

1 Peko-Peko albatross feather

(ooc- after you finish the quest, you can use any layers you want in the final product).

After you complete this, yep, that greedy bothan trog wants it , and gives you a boot schematic

Boot

P.S. Don't layer the boot, cause , you guessed it, that greedy bothan is goona keep it! In return he gives you the rest of the schematics.

50 vedusii crystal amorphous gemstone

75 known solid petrochemical fuel

65 talusian fiberplast

50 chromium aluminum

40 platinite copper

30 rori wooly hide

1 ris armor segment

1 synthetic cloth

1 giant dune kimogilia scale

SO, what this says is that you need enough of the loot to make 1 segment, then 1 layer, then one boot. The guy you give it to KEEPSit, so youeffectively lose those parts (this is why you need more than 1 set to make 1 item) Notice the boot requires it's own segment, hense, you really need enough of the segment loot to make 2 segments.......ALL THIS HAPPENS BEFORE YOU CAN CRAFT any pieces you can keep for yourself.......

SO, having done this you can now craft 1 piece for yourself....This will be your third segment, and your second piece and layer, so you really need

3woolymander bone fragment

3gurk king hide

2Peko-Peko albatross feather and

2giant dune kimogilia scale in order to craft a single ris layered piece of ris, if you want to do the whole quest yourself. If you already have this loot, find an armorsmith who has done the quest, and save the waste of grinding it yourself, and wasting the pieced on getting the schematic.

after seeing slomoshun's post: anyone that would grind armorsmith just to try and make ris armor is either insane or has way, way, waytoo much time on their hands and a ton of patience

K Thanks for explaining that b/c im not or never was an armorsmith and dont understand layering and whatnot and how to do it and all that stuff.

Thats why you should try and understand what you are doing and not to grind armorsmith just for a peice of armor.
