OK, is anyone other than me annoyed with having to use factories? I like crafting, not filling the landscape with smelly, ugly factories! I have come to terms with using them to produce the identical subcomponents we need, but when I make armor I get a lot more satisfaction from handcrafting each piece. Recently the 30%+ crit rates (counting assembly and experimentation) on composite have sent me to the dark side of factory schematics for final assembly, and I feel dirty...

Any other CRAFTERS out there? Or are we all stuck with being manufacturers, like it or not.

There is no way I would be able to keep up with demand and still do other things in the game if I didn't have factories to make armor.

Not to mention its soooooooooooo much easier to transport armor to my store in crates and it eats up less inventory space. (I don't have merchant so I drop the crates in the store for my merchant friend to stock).

I'm a master, and to date I have only used factorires when making my stun armor or enahnced stuff like nightsister helms. Other than that, every single set has been hand made. I do think that making the segments by hand however would is just plain silly, and without the need to use factories, architects would be losing a lot of business as well.

Hmmm, so you don't really care that there isthousands of people onyour server that need armor? You would need at least an armorsmith for every 10 people if we handmade everything.

I actually do both. Kinetic sets are always factory made, but the rarer stuff I hand make.

I care very much that there are people without armor! I also care that I find enough personal satisfaction in what I do that I don't wander off into another profession to achieve that satisfaction. I cannot count the hours I've spent turning an "I want armor, can you make it blue?" customer into a more sophisticated consumer of our products.

As far as I can tell there is no shortage of armor being offered for sale throughout my galaxy. Think I'd see more than 4 customers a week at my vendor if there were a shortage. It is on the global map after all.

well i don't have global advertising, actually just novice merchant skills. when i stock my vendor even if it sells out in a day or two. and when i stock its 40 suits at a time. just get your name out as a reputable armorsmith and people will come to you

As a protector, failure is not an option. if you fail not only does your future end, but the future of the one you're trying to protect ends as well.

Play however you like. Some like to use factories, but if you get more satisfaction hand-crafting, then do so.

Exactly. This game is about you having fun, not about how much demand you can fill or how many suits you can sell. If you get satisfaction from hand crafting or mass producing, so be it. It's all up to you.

Hand crafting all the way!

The pleasure of making a good set is worth loosinga "few" resources.
