Some people say charge what people are willing to pay, and that makes sense to a point. One could keep a tedious list of cost associated with harvesting and crafting including time spent and materials lost in failures and apply that to the finished price. However, that would be a bit more than I am willing to do.
So, is there a generally accepted price per unit for items? 50 credits per unit of input for a crafted item? Does that seam reasonable? Cost also should increase with quality but is that a good starting point?

I would agree with charge what people are willing to pay.
I also do not figure in every jot and tittle of resources/time for each item I craft. I have traveled to all the noob planets ( Corillia,Naboo,Tatooine ie the starter planets) and I frequently check other vendors and their prices ( also the bazzar ) so I have a good idea of what others are charging for their product and thus base my price respectively.
Also some people do have tons of credits and will pay whatever you want for a particular item ( 150k for 1 eyes of Measric or 300k for 1 crate (25 items) of Nemodian bird cages labled CRYSTAL )
