Well the no-brainer is just to give us the factional armor. I still fail to understand why this hasn't happened.

Of the one's you listed, none of those specifically have much chance of getting in based on continuity/rareness issues, but Iagree there are quite a number of other types we could come up with. Scout trooper armor, cold weather armors, new mercenary type armors, specific planetary armors (Corellian, Nightsister, Lokian). Anything adding to variety would be nice.

The problem with faction armor is they have not got code inplace to make only faction members able to craft and or wear player made items.

Thereplayers (even rebels) who would go Imp just to make and or wear Stormtrooper armor that was actually useful in combat. (for me it would be the green scout trooper armor but that is a matter of personal tastes)

I'm sure they can fix the factional armor crafting. I just think this is the one thing that would help immersion and involvement quicker than anything. If stormtrooper armor could be made with the same stats as composite, even the exact same schematic, people would eat it up.

The important thing is to not make any existing armor obsolete. What I'd like to see are a couple new armor MODELS using the same stats as composite (to start). Having three styles of composite would be great.

NO WAY !

It's maybe nice in theorie but who would want to have to maintain 3 times more armor on their vendors....

Right now I mainting 6 different types of composite on my vendors, one of them in 5 colors (in case set color suddenly goes away). + one kind of ubese...

I don't want to even think on having to maintain 18 different types of armor....

And that doesn't even take the number of vendors needed into account....

Just specialize in one or alternate.

The problem is that unless game mechanics change dramatically, there isn't really all that much room for a new armor *type*. And it doesn't solve the problem to introduce a new armor that just obsoletes another.

Of course, being a tailor as well, you can guess I prefer to work that way. It's a different playstyle.

If you want to do nothing but factory runs, pick an armor or 2 and specialize. Let the rest of us have our eye candy that we want.

That would not be too good for me.

I currently have over a 20% market share on Valcyn and players are expecting to find what they are looking for when they come into my shop.

I do not want them to come and have to leave because I did not have in stock what they wanted,

And custom orders takes too long when you have over 100 visits to your shop/day....

We play differently, that's all I can say. If they add new armors, you'll have a choice to make about how you react (be sure to take note of the "if" in there). Right now, composite is the armor of choice for everthing, and some (not all) people would like to see other looks to wear. Other reasons are to have armors with different native (unlayered) special resists.

But if the best arguement for not adding new armors is "oh no, I'll have a harder time stocking up", then that's a weak argument. Either make the time to make the new armors, or specialize and become known for the best at 1-2 kinds, and let other armorsmiths specialize in the other types. Then there will be yet other armorsmiths like me, who specialize in custom work.

What you do works for you. What I do works for me. But adding armor isn't just about you or me, it's about what all the players want. And right now, the request is for more variety in armor.

I agree players want more armor.

But seeing the time it takes to make a good suit of layered composite do you really think players will be able to find those easilly if they were put into the game ?

What will happen is that a few individuals will take on doing those custom orders and will charge outrageous prices for those to limit the demand....

And in the end the player base won't be happy due to the price...
