what armor is best to stop kinetic damage? what are some ways to give myself the best chance against a weapon that does kinetic? try multiple layers? or ubese with special protection? please help.

Only worried about kinetic? I suggest Advanced Ubese. If not enough put a kinetic layer into it.
While Composite can get higher kinetic, the HAM costs will make the higher % not as effective.
In addition, it is easy to get Ubese to 50% or so without layers, but difficult with Composite. I've heard people claiming to make non-sliced 80% kinetic Ubese, but I've yet to see a piece. I have seen 60%+ though and plan on making some very soon.

Three good choices: triple kinetic layered composite (80%), kinetic layered Ubese (70%+), and advanced chitin (60%+).
My MBH on Ahazi has a set of 80% kinetic comp (among others) which is nice for high level PvE and PvP where you're facing other damage types. If you know you're going to be facing only melee with kinetic weapons then Ubese is a good choice for lower HAM. My armorsmith on Shadowfire wears a set of 60% chitin to level heavy swordsman since the chitin is a little easier on the mind. I don't mass produce it since it's so organic intensive, so my customers get to choose from Ubese, Ubese, and Ubese.

80% Kinetic composite just requires 3 layers each at 6% Kinetic and some decent experiments...not to hard to make...

I currently make 3 types of high kinetic resist armor.
1. Layered composite, gets to 80% easy other resists in mid-low 60s. Hard on the HAM.
2. Advanced Ubese with a kinetic layer. I currently can get this to 71% resist. Decent HAM costs.
3. Krayt scale enhanced advanced Ubese with a kinetic layer. This type pushes 80% kinetic, depending on the bonus on the scales. This can get expensive. The advantage this has over #2 is that the vuln to heat and cold is gone and yu get some bonuses on the other resists that get moved into special protection. HAM cost is the same as #2.
