Every pair of gloves I made yesterday ended up with 4 sockets. Too bad they were all just test pieces.

I was just glancing over here hoping to see what was being said by armorsmiths about the new armor and this padding component in particular so that if I decide to make them I will do the best job at it I can. I'm sorry about all the animosity between tailors and armorsmiths, but I hope that you will understand that tailoring and armorsmithing work very differently in some cases. For armor what really matters is resists and somewhat the encumberance. Once you have the pieces experimented out with the right resists and 4 sockets you can put it into a factory and crank out pieces until you run out of resources. If all the armor is the same color, no one really cares because they are buying it for its function and not usually its looks. For us, color is *everything*. People come to us because they are very particular about how their character looks and they don't want to look just like everyone else. Most tailors choose their profession because we really enjoy the artistic and social aspects of being tailors. Because of this, it is impractical to run anything except for really popular items in a factory. We make factory components and then create every individual piece of clothing by hand and most of us enjoy doing that! By changing tailor sockets to be the same as armorsmith ones, it makes it really difficult for us to produce clothes that everyone wants with 4 sockets because we are not creating schematics and then running off lots of the same item.

Heh, I'm getting 3-4 sockets on every piece of wookiee armor I make for some reason
