have no idea how to work these into some armor. If I wanted to use them for a layered helmet, how should the other 2 layers be set up to max resists?

They work like standard layers, they are put into the segment while crafting the segment. Depends how many you have as to how much you can do with them.

I have 4 or 5 of them, can't remember exactly. I think I want to make a helmet with them, using 1 layer per segment, but how about the other layers, go both kinetic? Thats really what I am curious about, how to make the other layers work so the final resists don't suck.

Depends what protection you want. If you want anti-critter, use kinetic.

just remember that composite takes segs from a factory crate.
so use one NS layer in the segment, make that a schematic.....then you will have 3-4 segs to make your helmet and a pair of gloves.
