Thread: Novice Armorsmith
I have finally made enough general crafting exp for novice armorsmith and I have a question.
Do I HAVE to use an NPC trainer to get the novice armorsmith profession or can another player train me?
Thanks for your help!

Yeah you do.
Novice ANYTHING you need to get trained by an NPC. Better pony up that 5k lol. You'll make that back in no time
Hello,
Is there a compendium or guide that armorsmiths refer to as the 'bible' as far as how to go about becoming master armorsmith? I recently became a novice and I hope to get pointed in the right direction. These boards have good info and there a couple websites that have OK information but I am continuing my search for information to be sure that I am not missing something that will make my climb to the top a little easier.
Make/sell chitin to players until Technique 4.
Go personal 4, deflector 4, layers4, master.
If you must grind, jump to ubese (personal 3) and make ubese shirts at 125 practice xp per item (only require metal and fiberplast)...
You'll want to have a factory ASAP and a house with a private crafting station (or a droid with one). Factory craft your fiberplast panels, reinforced panels, synthetic cloth, and segments to make it easyer.
If you want to build deflectors, you will either have to find a master artisan to give you schematics, or get master artisan yourself...
You'll probably have to buy hides, or trade armor for hides.
Good luck.
Grinding is sitting for an hour or nine just crafting the same item over and over again in practice mode for experience. Once you get to Ubese, the shirts are great for it.
If you have access to a Tailor who can make you synthetic cloth schematics as well as a wearables factory, then I'd suggest Mabari armor chest plates to get to at least Ubese. If you hand craft the segments and then practice the chests, you get 445xp a pop. Not so bad.
You don't get as much xp from factory crafting as from hand-crafting.
I have a relationship with a tailor who sells me synth and reinforced for reasonable prices. It's nice to not have to waste skill points on tailor skills.
Now.. factory XP is 10% instead of 100%... so you get about 13xp per shirt in a factory run.... that's 1300xp for several hours of waiting... Definately not worth the resources if you're just going to destroy the items afterwards.. at 120 xp per shirt manually crafting, you would be able to produce this 1300xp by producing 11 shirts... which would take virtually no time compared to the factory run.. and far fewer resources.
Grinding is annoying, but if you want to get up tailor and don't want to make anything usefull, ribbed shirts are the way to go.
Hello all...Novice Armorsmith here! Right now I am just grinding just to get techniques I. Can anyone tell me how the experimentation works when I can make armor worth selling. What are the main things I need to concentrate on when I do experiment?
Well, get grinding those mabari chest-plates for your xp.
Some say go up technique first to get more experimentation points and better construction. And that's valid, but nobody buys mabari except new characters because they can afford it and it has kinetic resist. So I'd do a bit of techniques and a bit of personal armor, then fill in the rest of those 2 lines, then fill in the other 2 lines.
With experimentation, there are 3 things you're playing with the top one is durability. An increase in that will reduce the HAM cost to the wearer and increase the pieces maximum condition.
Next is experimental quality. This affects the general protection stats of the armor, so on Mabari, it'll do the kinetic resist etc.
On the bottom is experimental resistance. This affects the special protection afforded by that armor type. On Mabari, that's heat and blast, and Kenetic on Chitin armor.
Since your target market will initially be newbs (as opposed to n00Bs who get lol'ed at all the time for some reason), who will be running PvE missions mostly, and Mabari does nothing vs energy (blaster fire), put your point (points when you get more) into experimental quality.
