Is there anything that improves the chances of armor repair?
Is there anything that helps an armorsmiths chances to repair armor successfully (and even reduces the chance of marginal successes)? Besides repair tapes?

I would like to know as well. Last nite, I tried to reapair a fellow guildies armor. I had 92% repasir tools, I was next to my 44.9 station (not that that should matter), and I had 5 marginals and 2 catastrophic failures. I am a master, btw, but I only dabble until I get better resources. What am I missing?

I believe that the devs have created a system, that no matter how good you are, no matter the skill tapes, no matter the master status, you will degrade the armor when you repair it. Its been my experience that this is the case.
Of course, having a MAS and having a 99%+ repair tool helps a great deal.

Apparently weapon repair is going the same way. I've read a few posts in their forums that indicate repair successes since the last patch have gone down the tubes.
Based on my personal experience, I have to agree. I've repaired and had repaired a few good weapons...everyone one of them were somewhat or marginally successful. Thus reducing the condition significantly. Really sucks when it's a hammer and scythe made using good Ackley bones.
The speculation is that SOE is trying to get rid of the pre-nerf or double slicedstuff.

I believe repairing before 60% usually has the best results for a succesful repair.
