Well I'm not much of a PVPer myself, so I enjoy good armor without stun protection weighing it down. So unlike the largest portion of the high-end armor market (who prefer 40ish% stun, 65ish% base with effect slices and 1k HAMs) I prefer armor sliced to high 80s/90 with as low encumberance as possible. Helps make good buffs better
I recently acquired a helmet made by one of Valcyn's finest armorsmiths using some 45% krayt segments. 9 of 12 experimentation points were amazing successes. We won the coin toss on the slice (effect slice yay!) and the result is one of the best pieces of armor for my needs that I've seen in a long time. Results speak for themselves:
So I'm just wondering...how many people are there out there like me who want the ultimate in base resist/encumberance, and what's your finest (non-exploited) piece? If this proves popular enough, I may post some of my prepatch armor (from before the 90% cap) and various other nightsister/krayt pieces I own (I admit it, I'm an armor addict). But first I wanna see what people have been able to do on other servers, or perhaps even some things I haven't seen on Valcyn.

The sad thing is in today's PvP world, that helm would get dominated by the shear amount of stun weapons.

Preslice, I can make 74 base using janta hides and electric layers, or 76 base with rancor hides and heat/cold layers... Both of those suits still haveat least one resistin the SP. I haven't seen krayt segs that are better than what I can make yet. A set of 45% segs would indeed be nice. Whate was the base resist of that helm before you sliced it?

I have separate armor I wear for PVPing...this was made for a different purpose.
It was 80% base before slicing. It's fairly easy to craft heavily layered armor and slice it to 90%, the really special ones use loot better than anything normally craftable to hit 90% with much lower HAMs than normally possible. Here's another approach to the same idea, this one using nightsister armor layers and janta hides:

Great helmet especially since you managed to move the Electricity effectiveness from special effect (unsliceable) to the base effect. I really curious how you managed that.
