Thread: Question about Ubese/Composite Armor.

1. I only fight monters so I only need knetic resistance right?

2. How much knetic resist does Ubese armor have?

3. Composite has 80% base as a special?

I not sure how armor is made but I only want high knetic resist. So I was wondering if your able to make like 80% knetic resist composite armor then put hte rest of the points into encumbrance so it has High knetic resistance and low encumbrance. Is this possible?

Thanks for your time and stay safe.

Ubese is often found in the 70+ range on all servers. It is quite light and can be worn without buffs even unsliced. Add a voritor scale or krayt scale and you can often hit 80% here as well.

Composite is easy to make to 80% kinetic since it accepts more layers than ubese. However you are looking at encumbrance in the 650's across the board or a bit lighter depending on what smith you find. Slice it for encumbrance and this can also be worn without buffs. Generally composite is more expensive than ubese.

Find a good smith, and the encumbrance on 80% kinetic composite is a lot lower than krallic says... i'm not sure about your server, but on chimaera i can do 80% kinetic/58% base with around 540/490/550 enc unsliced, for the whole set. Get a few enc slices and it goes down a lot more.

Pretty expensive though, compared to Ubese. If you're fighting Krayts or other very dangerous mobs, you will have to go with 80% composite though. For 'normal' mobs, Ubese will do the job.

edit, to answer:

3. Composite has 80% base as a special?

1. Correct.

2. Depends on the armorsmith and the resources available on servers. On Chimaera i can do 73% kinetic Ubese.

3. No,usually not. Armorsmiths have touse kinetic protection layers in their composite armor to make kinetic go up to 80%. When they do it, it's special resist, yep.

I agree with you on the encumbrance there Cray, allthough it isn't always easy nor economical to seek out the 11 and 12 point smiths on a given server.

Thanks for the info though, now I know what to aim for on Chimaera. Just a question though: Are you cutting experimentation before you reach the max base then putting more into encumbrance (on the final assembly)? Because 58% base sounds low for useing the 100cpu kiirium.

If you want high kinetic and low encumberance, go with ubese. That is all Ubese is, high kinetic and low encumberance. It costs a fraction of what composite does. Give an armorsmith some decent voritor enhancements or krayt scales and have him make you some 80%. If you don't need any other protections, then going with composite is only an overkill. Save composite for PvP or fights that require other protections, and use the Ubese on the hunting.

You want to go with the cheapest armor that will get the job done, and that's Ubese...

Great information! I went and bought ubese but only with about 4-5 hours of fighting the ubese jacket is almost broke. 17k total condition and its down to 6k condition.

Is 17k low or is that normal?

I think I would have custom composite made with high knetic and low encum. But I don't know how armor is made. I have been asking around and I guess to get 70% knetic resist and with even 12 skill points you will only get around 450 encub? This sound right to you?

you go through ubese jackets quick

there is no ubese biceps so the chest takes hits that would normally go there. Get some repair kits and do your own repairs. Most armorsmiths dont have tapes to increase repair anyways, so just do it yourself.

I dont have anyof the 100cpu kiirium any more, cause noone sells it. This is madeof the secondbest kiirium (which is crappy compared to the best).

About Ubese:

Yep, 17k is normal condition. Get it repaired at 5k condition or so...

450 encumbrance 80% Kinetic composite is not possible i think. You have to rely on slices to get it a lot lower than the values i told above.
