Thread: Armor Enhancements again

I know I've asked before but it just seems like I'm missing something (no flames please ) Most of the armor I have made and sold so far has been Wookiee armor (been very nice to have cash flow while I wait upon good resources to spawn for Ubese and Caomposite). The best I have been able to put together has been 56% kinetic and 20% base mostly due to the stats on some of the resources I've had to deal with. Though the stats are "OK" I know I could increase the kinetic resists nicely by adding armor enhancements (like Voritor scales). The problem of course is getting a large enough set of these with the same serial numbers so I can make a factory crate of Advanced Segments (a full set would take 11 segments + 1 for schematic assuming that everything went without error). Now the most I have seen with the same number is 4 (can't doa chest plate with that). So I ask:

1. What do you use as armor enhancments especially for Wookiee or Ubese?

2. Where do your enhancements come from?

3. Would you make factory runs of 3/4 segments at a time based on the ehancements available?

4.For ehancements like Voritor scales have you ever seen a group or more than 4 identcal scales?

5. How are these serial numbers assigned to the scales? By lair? By day of hunt? By species?

Sorry for the redundate and inane questions but I'm trying to cut my teeth on this Wookiee stuff and feel like I'm missing something simple/fundemental that I can apply to future armor crafting.

I believed serial numbers were assigned by type.

I have many fambaa hides all looted at different times. All those that have the same stats also have the same Serial. doesnt matter when or where I got them.

The serial numbers are the same for the same loot drop. Makes no difference where or when.

Not sure about how many can be in a "stack" of the lizard scales. I picked up 8 rancor hide enhancers the other night and have seen sets of 9 of other stuff.

Larger sets are more valuable because of the number of segments you can make without wasting another loot piece. You're going to have to make more than one factory run to make the armor, or wait for a larger set. The thing that sucks most...none of the wookie armor components only require 1 segment. So if you have one left over, don't make the segment and use it in some other type of gloves.

1. I personally like voritor scales for wookie, chitin, and ubese because they are cheap and bump up both kinetic and energy (important ones for PvE). The only other enhancers worth anything (ns shards, krayt scales, janta hides) are too valuable to put in those armors.

2. I either collect them from guild hunts or, in the case of voritor scales, buy them on the bazaar. There were 2 good Dant Leathery spawns recently on Corbantis, so that meant doing a lot of voritor missions for credits, hides, and scales.

3. Yes for wookie and ubese because they require identical factory segments. No for chitin because the segments don't need to be factory made.

4. Yes, I see 5 all the time and 6 occasionally. I think 6 is the most I've seen for voritor scales, but the higher end enhancers can get up in the 10-11 range. Don't throw away sets of 3-4 though. A set of 4 can make an ubese helm or a chitin chest.

5. All the scales looted from one single voritor will have the same serial number. Theoretically, no other scales dropped in the game will have the same serial numbers. Only a dev could answer that with confidence.

In short, voritor scales are a great enhancer for wookie armor (I can hit 65% kinetic with them) but you just need to look a little harder for sets of 5-6 (and maybe run voritor missions).

well wondering the same thing I decided to go voritor hunting for a few days. this is what i found

Serial nimbers are the same only from one voritor even if they come off the same lair. for example i got one scale off 4 different voritors on the same lair and all 4 serial #'s were different. Later on I got a drop of 5 identicals of one lizard and 3 off another, both same lair, but also with different serial #s respectively.

Not sure if all looted drops work this way, but guarentee Voritor Lizards work this way as I hunted them for 6 hours a day for a week just to get enough Identical segments to make a complete set of 78% Kinetic Ubese. How it works is, You need 5 Identicals for the Chest, 4 each for both the Pants and Helmet, 3 each for the Boots and both Bracers, but only a single for the gloves.

Another thing worth mentioning is the only Mobs that drop scales are the low level "voritor Lizards." the other voritors (grasslands, trackers, etc) drop Segments, Used to make BONE ARMOR ONLY, and are pretty much worthless, as no one really uses bone armor these days.

so, If making a set of Ubese, you'll need....(provided you have no screw ups crafting and experimenting)

5 identicals = 4 Identical segments from a factory run crate = 1Jacket

4 identicals =3 Identical segments from a factory run crate =1 Pants

4 Identicals =3 Identical segments from a factory run crate = 1 Helmet

3 Identicals =2 Identical segments from a factory run crate = 1 Boots

3 Identicals =2 Identical segments from a factory run crate = 1 Bracer

3 Identicals =2 Identical segments from a factory run crate = 1 Bracer

any singles = 1 Glove

The reason is, the chances of getting more than 5 identicals is extremely rare, and more often than not you only get singles or 2 identicals, so this makes it impossible to say " If Ubese needs 17 segments, so if i only need18 Identicals"..... and even if you did get 6 identicals, you still could only make a helmet and a bracer or leggings and a bracer.

Wookiee's Cerimonial would work like this,

5 identicals for the chest, 4 for the leggings, and 3 foreach bracer.

Hope this helps clarify a bit

What would you propose I do with these 2 NS layers I looted? They have the yellow lettering and the stats are something like -19/-17/-19. But I only looted 2!!! I guess i can make gloves.
