Hello all armorsmith,
i had grind for months, i finally i am now a master of armorsmith. Still, compare to you guys i am still a Noob
. As a new armorsmith, i have a few question for you elderly and more experience smith in this forum.
a) On the segment of composite we have 3 layer, I put 1 for kinetic, 1 for stun, and last 1 for electric to increase the effectiveness. Is this a good schem? If not please advice for better solution.
b) Which one is more prefer on armor in general? Looted segment or layers that we can built?
c) For Ubese armor, since we only have one slot for armor, I usually put in a kinetic layers, but I have really low overall effective, what can i do to increase the overall effectives?
d) I saw on this forum, one of you (can't remember whom) had said that segment of ubese have to be 13 in order for armor to reach 66%+, i can only put up to 9%, but my effective is 1% and HAM is 19????what can I do to improve that?
thank you so much in advance guys, and sorry about the double pose

I'm a Ubese smith so I'll see if I can help you with the question pertaining to that armor:
C) There are three methods for raising Effectivness ratings
1. Use better resources in your builds
2. Experiment effectivness up during that stage of the craft
3. Use Enhancement type items (Voritor scales, Janta Hides, etc.) to raise the base effectivness of the completed segment.
D) I'm assuming that by "segment of ubese have to be 13 in order for armor to reach 66%+" is referring to your kinetic layer when answering this question.
The kinetic doesn't need to be at 13% to raise your completed armor component to 66%. Assuming 775 oq/sr weighted resource quality you can hit 66% with an 11% kinetic layer.
If you are stuck using your same kinetic layers (and dont want to use enhancers -see above-) then you'll have to find better quality resources for teh final component combine. (About 800oq/sr weigther resource quality on the armor resources if you want to use those 9% layers)
Finally you don't even have to use layers to hit 66% assuming you have good enough resources (930oq/sr weighted resources can get you to 66% without layers)
As far as the base effectiveness and HAM is concerned, you'll be looking to either experiment in those fields (possibly lowering your capability to "max" out kinetic) or simply using better resources (or addins) in your craft.

If not please advice for better solution.bad bad bad schematic, if you want stun, makethem all stun. a master will tell you there are really only 4 types of composite armor. a) 80% kinetic (for PvE) b) stun layered for PvP (all 3 layers are max stun resists) c) high base effectiveness armor (so that slices can get close to 90%) and d)light, low HAM composite that can be worn without buffs
quick answer on how to do each
80% kinetic- dont waste your experimetation points in kinetic protection in the layers, you will be very tempted but dont. If you must put one point. get the base to 4% and put the rest into reducing ham
stun layers- max stun on layers, mix segs with base and HAM, expect super heavy armor, people won't care and still like it
have base composite- go with whatever you have best resources for (cold and heat have pretty common stuff) max base on layers segs and final product with any remaining points into hams
light composite- trickier here, but looking for a base/HAM combo with more point sbeing put into HAM, also regular segs instead of advanced are lighter
I can not stress the importance of making tons and tons of gloves. these do not require a factory made seg and you can test drive all your armor before you load the factory
b) Which one is more prefer on armor in general? Looted segment or layers that we can built? player made are better than 90% of the looted stuff. krayt segs can make some light composite and the seg enhancers are always good (the 5-10% of looted stuff that has better mods can make good armor)
c) For Ubese armor, since we only have one slot for armor, I usually put in a kinetic layers, but I have really low overall effective, what can i do to increase the overall effectives? 99% of people buying ubese dont care about base effectiveness. put everything you can into special protection, the rest into HAM
d) I saw on this forum, one of you (can't remember whom) had said that segment of ubese have to be 13 in order for armor to reach 66%+, i can only put up to 9%, but my effective is 1% and HAM is 19????what can I do to improve that? I made 67% ubese as a 7 or 8 point smith. with ubese do this....put everythign into special, the rest into HAM, dont even look at base, there are other armors if you want that. to get to 66%+ all you need are resources
thank you so much in advance guys, and sorry about the double pose
hope that helps a noob master
