If you just want the questions and don't want to read the rant....look at the numbered questions.
First off let me say I've been playing SWG since the 31st of January this year. I'm a real noob and I'm going AS. Lot's of pain and dissapointment and a few breakthroughs. No one in my guild knows much about the proffession. It's been a real struggle.
Let me justsay,I quickly figured out right away that you can't grind AS without a wearables factory and novice tailor. So I finally got them and made the damn synth cloth by the crate. Now i can make the mabariweave chestplates rather quickly. This is fine and dandy. I am quite a bit more ambitious than that. I seem to think that if I can get the re-inforced fiberpanels that, making the chitin armor will speed my grind. But I am unsure. Everything about this proffession is filled with pain.I got a block of learning just to find I can make almost all that I need. OK here's the questions.
1. What is thebest branch in the AS tree to climb 1st?
(I'm speaking of ability to make items for more xp to level up quicker, not to make better armor right away, I don't need much cash because my training is financed by my alt running missions and gatherering Hide etc.)
2. Making Mabari armorweave chestplates if fine xp, how much more xpis gained by making chitin armor chestplate?
(need to know if buying re-inforced fiber panels for my grind is a waste)
3. Do I get xp for a run of armor madein my wearables factory with my schematic?
4. Is it worth getting Fieldwear 2 under tailor for my AS trade and how I can quickly gain xp inunder tailor?
5. Which really did come 1st...the chicken or the egg??

It's annoying to grind mabri's like I am right now lol.. But I believe its the fastest... I keep having to make runs for synthetic cloth which stinks

I'm pretty sure by your post that you have already ground out the artisan line you needed, but I included it so that others that haven't will know what to do...the AS grind instructions are below for those that want to skip ahead...
ARTISAN
General Crafting:
Gained by crafting items from the Artisan Engineering and Domestic Arts lines.
Use multiple General Crafting Tools.
Do not grind near a Crafting Station.
Use Practice Sessions for a 5% XP gain.

Macro:
/ui action toolbarSlot##;
/selectDraftSchematic #;
/pause 5;
/nextCraftingStage;
/nextCraftingStage;
/createPrototype Practice noitem;
/createPrototype Practice noitem;
/selectDraftSchematic #;
/pause 5;

Repeat the above macro in a loop for as many times as it takes to efficiently use several crafting tools.
The ## in the line, /ui action toolbarSlot##; references the spot on your toolbar where the crafting tool is located minus 1 (the number is zero-based).
The # in the line, /selectDraftSchematic #; references the schematic number of the item you wish to create. To determine this number, open up your Data Pad and go to the Draft Schematics tab. DO NOT SORT THIS PAGE! (You can change the view though.) Now start from the top of the list and count every schematic that is difficulty 20 and below until you get to the item you want to craft, this is the schematic number for that item. Please note that this number can change after the server reboots or when you drop professions.

Surveying:
Gained by Sampling resources (not the Surveying part, ironically)
Make or buy any Survey Tool type.
Find a high resource concentration spot (+80%). NOT RADIOACTIVE!

While sampling a dialog Event will occasionally pop up, this macro will bypass it but you will still have to close the dialogs eventually (they just won't stop you from sampling).

Sampling will drain your Action bar and some Mind bar, this is the reason for the /pause 60; so you can regenerate. If you can get a buff, eat some food/drink, or use some spices to boost your Quickness and Stamina this time can be reduced (or even removed). If the buff is high enough you can actually just use /sample and let it run, you'll need to be at the keyboard though to close the Event dialogs.
The best method I found to grind this is to go to Coronet, make (or buy) all the different surveying tools, find the resource with the highest concentration in the city, get a doctor buff, and just use the above macro on that spot. This way you don't have to worry about MOBs attacking you and you can easily go refresh your buffs when they run out.

Ejudicator,
Thanks for the info. not sure what some of it means as i never used a macro and my guild frowns upon them. I still have many unanswered questions and think my best bet is to get some reinforced fiber panels. I've got somebody looking into making a run of them for meon the Intrepid server. He doesn't have the ability to make the schematic at this point as it requires the tailor skill fieldwear 2. My logic being that, if making Mabari armorweave chestplates gives decent XP, then making chiten or tantel chest plates will give more. I'm not 100% sure on that because there are so many pitfalls in the AS proffession that I wouldn't doubt anything at this point. If anyone on the Intrepid server is in need of factory crates of synth cloth just send a /tell or an e-mail to "Jack-Sparrow" as I have great empathy for anyone trying to grind this tough profession. Likewise if anyone on the Intrepid server can make factory crates of reinforced fiberpanels or would like to sell me a schematic for them, please contact me.
Regards.

Jack,
I'm pretty sure what I have listed above is the cheapest and fastest way to grind out the profession. The xp payouts I'm sure are dead on, what type of xp are you getting on the mabari? Seems like you would have to rely on someone else to contruct things for you doing the mabari, were as mine doesn't and you are basically self sufficient. But if you are getting more xp your way, and it's not costing you too much, then definetely go for it. AS will be making a killing when the new faction armor comes out, they look amazing.

When I mastered AS with my alt I had no money or factory runs problem, I tryed to craft all types of armor to make it faster, but ended making mabari chest plates. XP for tantel andubese was almost the same as mabari. Padded gives you a bit more XP, and I made some padded for a change from my 12 points segments, but it takes MORE time and eats too much resourses and components.
Ubese shirts areeasy to make if you use macro
Make Mabari chest plates -if you don't like macros (like me)
You don't get XP for factory runs
You don't need tailor 0200 , just ask any tailor to make you 3-4 schematics for RFP
If you want tailor XP- check scematics for belts and gloves, the more resources it takes - the more XP you get

thank you for direct answers zabava,
i now know that there is no need to be making anything but mabari armorweave chestplates the whole way. seems dumb, but everything about AS is. there is no need to buy more materials than i need to make what i want to sell when i get good. i should have mentioned that i am a real noob. if there is a macro for making mabari armorweave chstplates i'd love to have it.

Now i think i get what you were saying Ejudicator, you were simply saying togrind Mabari Armorweave chestplates till personal armor 3 and them usbese shirts the rest of the way. There was too much info there for a novice like me to sift through. So someone please confirm if mytake on what Ejudicator saidis correct.
My new Theory:
1. Grind AS making Mabari chest plates till you reach Personall Armor 3
2. Grind AS making Ubese shirts the rest of the way.
Please tell me if this is a good plan and if I will need anything special for the ubese shirts.
Also2 other questions, Does a Tailor get XP for his schematic pumping out stuff in his wearables factory?

Nope I never said anything about chestplates...the only thing you need to grind are these two things to master...
Novice: Armor Upgrade Kits (63xp 20 Metal, 10 Chemical) --> Personal Armor 3
Personal Armor 3: Ubese Armor Shirt (126xp 30 Steel, 20 Iron, 10 Fiberplast) --> Master
Personal Armor 3: Ubese Armor Shirt (126xp 30 Steel, 20 Iron, 10 Fiberplast) --> Master
Macros etc are in my above post. I wasn't sure how far you gotten but the above are the highest producing xp gains. I just thought for someone that was starting out from scratch could benefit from a total armorsmith grinding guide. From novice artisan to master armorsmith in no time kinda thing. You only needed to read from the armorsmith part on.
