Yeah, I know its a noob question. I admit I respec'd to armorsmith on an alt so I have something to play with every now and then thats a bit different, but I do have a whole new respect for the armorsmith profession and what you guys do with all these factory runs and how slow those things go!
But my question is does armor assembly pts determine or give you at better chance at getting 4 sockets on a piece of armor? Thanks. I tried searching but its down for me right now.

ahem, as a former 10 pt smith, who recently got 12 pt I will tell you this
10 pt smith when looking for 4 sockets=feel like playing the slots in Vegas with VERY poor odds
12 pt smith when looking for 4 sockets=get them at least 85% or more of the time now
So yes it does make a difference

yeah i got that feeling too, but its still just a randomizer with weighting or sumfin.

true, I'm not saying that its anything other than random, but it does help with the odds was all I meant

By "12-pointer" do you mean the experimentation bonus or the assembly bonus?
I only have assembly +16, so I might consider throwing a couple of million out on another +9 tape if it means more sockets ![]()

typically a 12pointer means experimentations, personally I had +125 assembly before experimentation and didnt see much effect on sockets, however my assemblies were much more consistantly better with the assembly bonuses
