Thread: Master Armorsmith needs help getting Comp base and Ubese Kinetic up
Natalya,
What resources are you using for your layers, segments and final combine? I'm on Intrepid as well (we've talked)and you should easily be able to hit 80% Kinetic and 60 something percent base making composite armor. Make 2/6 layers then dump the rest of your points in layers into ham reduction. Make segments that are about 25-26/20 then reduce ham again with remaining points. Then max out qualityleaving at least one point to dump into ham reduction will will give your resists a final bump.

i cant get ingame right now to look at my resources but when u say 2/6 layers what do u mean? and got any tips for me on ubese?
p.s. i remember u dova, and thanks in advance ![]()
Or just play around with Virtual Armorsmith 1.2 a bit so you can experiment without using up resources.

With my 75% ubese I am:
1) experimenting the layers to 94% special protection (14% kinetic)
2) experimenting the segment to 81% special protection (38% kinetic)
3) experimenting the ubese armor to 90% special protection (75% kinetic)
You probably just need better resources.
Natalya,
2/6 layers are 2% base/6% kinetic resist. You should be using Dilva... Polymer if you have it or the latest polymer to spawn that was 1550'ish OQ+SR. The new Carbonite Steel would be wonderful for kinetic layers as well but if you want low HAM you should be using Retatahoide Phrik of Afiahiam Phrik. The Durachroies (sp) Amorphous would be you best best for gemstone.
The segments should have Durefida Colat Iron (although a decent but not greatalternative spawned a short while back), Amoukide Polysteel Copper and Ilahoine (sp?) Kiirium Steel.
I might be in-game tonight. I've been hunting the Rori Wooly Hide with my alt for the last few nights and leveling carbine.

Dova
First...make a set of unlayered gloves and max the base.
2 - Determine what the layer needs to be based on #1 to get 80% kinetic. Say 54% unlayered base would need 26% added to hit 80%. (Kinetic resist starts as a base and the base of the layers adds to the original base before the "special" kicks in.)
So...54% + 4%base layer +4%base layer +4%base layer = 66% + 4% kin + 4%kin + 4%kin = 78% total kinetic.
There are hidden decimals on the layers. So the 4% in both base and kin above may actually be 4.4%. That will add 2% more...giving 80% kinetic.
This is an example from my experience. With my resources. Your numbers will most likely be a little different. The main point is...don't give up base % when you don't need to.
Of course, if HAM is a concern, you'll have to give up base to decrease HAM on the layer. In that case, you need to increase the kinetic to hit 80%.

no i missed that one, is it still floating around somewhere?
