With 98% repair kits, you've pretty much got exactly the same chance as a Master AS

As as Master Artisan/Novice Armoursmith I got asked to repair some armour last night

Composite chest, Ubese trousers, Bone bracer, bicep and gloves

I repaired the Composite/Ubese ok and then proceeded to kill the bone armour bits

go figure! lol

Apparently you don't understand. AS, master or not, don't get any bonus to repair. We have just as much chance to fail on repair as you do.

master gets the full % of the repair tool's rating

I'll believe you when a DEV stats that, for now everyone has the same chance of fixing something, no matter what class.

Just a tip, its not good to insult people you are trying to get to help you.

You're right, I'm a total idiot and know nothing about my profession. I mean I've only been a master since August. All those repairs I've failed on with 98% + tools must have just been a fluke huh? Oh not to mention I still fail with 100% tools nowadays, and +20 Armor exp, +10 repair, and +19 assembly.

I've tested this myself, and found barely any difference between a master AS and a novice medic using the tool. However, it's always 'better' to go to the right profession to have your stuff fixed. When asked to repair armour, I take the kit, stand in front of my +41 crafting station, and start repairing, 'just to be sure'. I am fairly sure there is less chance of failure, and that the repair results will be more favourable if the tool is used by the appropriate profession, but until I am given complete listings for how this is all calculated, then I'm not gonna try to say what bonuses and penalties there are.
