Naffs have a high drop rate. Rancors also drop decent. Harder drops are Kimos and Krayts. Cant help with use. I only collect them.

Just to help clarify:

You can loot segements. These replace craftable asegments that are armor type specific and genarly inferior to what we can craft.

You can loot enhancers, Janta hide, voritor hide(or scale?), Krayt Scale, Nightsister Shards. These are all benifical because they mostly add to the quality of your crafted segments an can be used for any type of segment

You can loot layers. I think only Nightsisters drop layers, These can be used in any segment that use layers and are usualy better than what you can can craft.

In short segments suck, enhancers are good, layers kick A$$. The nightsister stuff is for very low H/A/M armor. You can make 1/0/1 stuff with them. I made a 0/0/40 Mabari helmet for fun.

janta's and voritors are on dant. Try nightsisters, they are the only loot that has a decent value. Most of the segment loot drops are pretty useless (the armor they go in isn't very good or they just suck compared to what a smith can make). Ditto for most of the segment enhancers. Janta segment enhancers are the second best, but they are relativly common so there isn't as much of a market for them. Nightsisters are your best bet, their layers very nice and will sell the best.
