This was originally a two-weeks notice post, but several people PM'd me immediately after I posted it and told me that it was stupid (ok, they didn't use that word) to be stepping down because of Lithium and that I should really stick around until the combat balance. So that is what I will be doing. I will, however, be stepping down as armorsmith no later than the middle of September, even if the combat balance is not complete by then (I'm getting married and will be gone for about a month and a half, during which time, believe it or not, I will *not* be checking the boards).
I really want to see the combat balance done right and will be using all my powers of persuasion to see that armorsmiths remain a healthy and viable profession. Again, I apologize about the '19 questions' question that was asked yesterday, butyet again I was frustrated by Lithium. I'll ask TH to allow more than a dozen hours in between the request for the question and posting of the question in the future so that I can still respond even if I'm having Lithium problems.

First of all: Thanks Jaato!
Sorry to hear about the troubles of the boards (which IMO, we all have). Would it be possible to prod TH into posting an update to the 19Q thread with a question that is on our agenda? (Since it is clearly their fault that we couldn't get a question in the first place.)

Now that made my post a bit easy to misunderstand. Thanks for all hard work, in my opinion you're doing a good job and it is real nice of you to stick with it for a while longer. When the time comes you got a very valid reason to leave, getting married, so a big good-luck to you.

Good point, I'll try that. I think he went on vacation today, though- that's why the sudden post of the '19 questions' yesterday.

Jaato,
I was dissapointed in the question as well but I'd like to add that you have done a great job the whole time that you have been our correspondant. Not your fault at all.
A lot of things have been fixed over your tenure and you are going to be a tough act for the next person to follow.

I play with many different professions, and as such, try and read every profession board that I play (AS/BE/DE/CH/Jedi). I have to say that you are my favorite correspondent (woot, brownie points!) Anyways, yes our question sucked...majorly, but Id seriously have to come over there (wherever you are) and smack you upside the head if you were going to quit becuse the Lithium people accidentally hooked up our boards to an Etch-a-Sketch for a couple of days. It wasnt your fault that TH picked a lame question to answer.

Jaato, you are an excellent corospondent and I would hate to see you quit over the crappy forum software (quitting in Sept 'cause you're getting married.. well.. that's only a marginally better reason *smirk*.. just kidding).
Lithum is the crappiest piece of.... I don't think is scales the way they claimed when they sold SOE on it. I have even lost auctions because of it.
As for the question.. I am positive TH picked the one he could give the easiest (and most pat) non-answer to. It was exactly the answer all the combat professions have been getting to any of their questions. As for being given 12 hours... how the heck can any of the deeper questions actually be answered in less than 12 hours? That's ludicrous. No wonder most of the answers have been "hmm that's interesting, we'll look into it" or "wait until the spiffy diffy Jedi revamp, combat revamp, or Jump to Lightspeed we might get around to even looking at the possibility of answering your question after that".
I'm annoyed at TH and SOE, not at you, Jaato. Your job dealing with them has been tough and you've done a great job putting together solid information for armorsmiths.
