Segments don't stack. One way of looking at it is: the larger the piece of armor the more area needs coverage. More segments cover more area.

You are correct in your assumption about segment experimentation. Experimenting on the bottom bar on composite segments and composite pieces only raise electric. In other words, don't do it For composite, if you experiment the middle bar to raise base resists it will also raise kinetic (because any special % from layers will be added on to the final base).

The number of segments is purly a size thing, bigger pieces need more segments than smaller peices, they don't stack.

I am trying to make high Kinetic Composite Armor. I made my Kinetic Layers and added them to the composite segment. My result before experimentation was 10% Electric/ 30% Kinetic After experimentation I had 40% Electric, 30% Kenetic. I assume by this result that experimenting on the composite segment's Resists are for ONLY the ones the armor naturally has (Electric).

Now, with this 40/30 segment I go to add it to my Chestplate. This is where my questions begins as I do not want to waste materials piddlin' around.

If I add these three segments to the chestplate - will they stack - making the armor 120/90 (dropped to the 80/80 maxes) If not, what happens?

If I experiment on the chestplate's resists now - will it affect ALL the resists, or just the dang electic again?
