Thread: Dumbest/funniest questions/situations you've had?

Every other profession has one of these posts, so I thought we should have one too.
One of my favourite situations was:
Customer: "Hi"
Me: "Hi"
C: "Do you make padded?"
M: "Yes"
C: "Which colours can you make"
M: "Which colours are you looking for?"
C: "Just tell me the colours"
M: "Well, padded comes in a base colour and a colour for the pads. There are about 120 colours for each."
C: "Which!!!????!!!!????"
M: "Look, there's 120 colours. I'm sorry, but I am not going to type out that amount of colours. Pretty much everything is covered, so just tell me what you are after. Chances are it's possible"
C: "I want black and white"
And here is my list of best ways to annoy a crafter. In no particular order.
1. State the obvious.
"Will you let me know when my order is done?"
No.. I'm going to let you guess.
2. State more of the obvious.
"Will you let me know where I can pick my order up?"
No.. I'll let you guess that too.
3. Request impossible things.
"I want a 100% stun suit, with 80 kin, except for the arms that need to have blast". Do not in any way research what is a reasonable request. The crafter will be delighted to explain all aspects of their profession to you. In detail.
4. Ask every hour if your order is done yet.
5. Demand discounts when ordering for less than 5k because one day you may have more money and may order more items.
6. Order 10 full factory crates and if told that the crafter will start straight away, tell them you are on the way to pick up now.
7. Never check crafters' stock. Even if you know they stock daily. Always /tell to check if they have stock. Or email and wait for 4 days to get told "Yes."
8. When initially contacting a crafter. Always say only "Hi". This allows the crafter to start up a conversation with you. Never make any indication of what you want. Alternatively, to be a bit different, intiate chat with "Are you on?"
9. Comment on crafters' afk messages. This is valuable communication and the crafter has never had this conversation before. Or within the last minute, at least.
10. Assume that a crafter knows all other crafters of the same profession and will send you to them if they cannot help you immidiately.
11. Assume that a crafter knows all other crafters, full stop. Demand that your WS knows a good DE, who is online and able to help you right now. Remember to initiate this next conversation with only "Hi."
12. Ask a crafter what resources you need to make stuff like they do.
13. Never even try crafting and ask basic questions like "How do you craft".
14. Ask your master crafter if they can sell you grind ql resources.
15. If your crafter has a vendor dedicated to orders, be sure to grab someone else's. It might be good. Feel free to take out anything you want and offer the rest back.
16. Never read the boards. Ask a crafter how to grind.
17 . Assume a crafter will know exactly what stats a combination of 10 different resources will yield and demand this info before committing to an order.
18. Assume that if you spend more than 1k in a crafters shop, you are now the crafter's best friend. Whenever you logon, send them pointless messages asking how they are. Or better yet, just say "Hi." Crafters love that and have nothing better to do than to ensure that all of their 200 customers have gotten up, had breakfast, a shower and are generally happy with the state of the world. You can apply this to real life. Call your local shop and demand to speak to the person that sold you a pint of milk yesterday. Just to say "Hi."
19. Offer stacks of 5 resource to your crafter if they are no good to you.
20. Place a huge order and stress how important speedy delivery is. When order is complete... wait 28 days to pick it up, because you are out of cash.

forgot one of the most annoying things crafters go through
ask how much a crafter charges for certain item and complain that the price is too high

Yeah, that one's good, too. I particularly love the scouts that want 150 cpu for yavin wooly, then complain that the price of padded has gone up. Gee, I wonder why.

Very funny, but I do tend to say hi to many of the crafters I purchase from, maybe it's because I like to talk?

M. OMG..bounty hunter armor cannot be crafted..it only can be looted
C. OK...CAN YOU LOOT IT FOR ME THEN?

There are a lot of annoying conversations involved in RIS. This one has happened with variations many times.
Customer: Hi do you make RIS?
Me: Sure.
Customer: How much for a suit?
Me: Well that depends on what parts you have.
Customer: I have the parts so how much?
Me: Well ok can you tell me which parts you have?
Customer: I have peko feathers and woolamander frags
Me: ok, why don't you email me a list of everything
Customer: ok
long pause
email:
4 gurk hides
16 peko feathers (you can have the extra) <- gee thanks
3 kimogila scale <- clearly not GDK scales
4 nightsister layers 3%
5 NS shards -11 -13 -10
1 woolamander bone
3 Rancor Segments12% (these are uber since everyone has 5%) <- yes, these are crappy padded armor segs
Me: ...
After having several of these i wrote up a RIS FAQ which i email all customers, seems to work great.
And one funny tell i got was:
Customer: Do you sell RIS suits? I want to buy some.

The main problem is people pressuring you for stuff NOW, I mean it's as if we never do anything else, I run a resource business as well as my armorsmithing so I'm often out on hour long harvester runs so I can't always come back quick, or if I'm off hunting and am buffed last thing I want to do is waste my 25k by coming back to make a set of armor because someone's impatient.
I generally take orders rather than craft personally, I don't hold a lot of stock due to people buying up every part so they can get a nice slice I'd rather make to order.

I've had pretty much all of those happen to me.
One of the questions I dread is the:
"Can you make RIS?"
Then, I have to explain to them why I can't make RIS armor, because I haven't completed the quest. Then, this question always follows:
"What do you need?"
Of course, once I compile the e-mail with the resources that I need and send it to him/her, they promise to find the resources for me.
I never hear from them again.
And then, there's the... "Hi! Can you craft armor?"
No, I wear this master armorsmith title for show!

Had a funny one last night.
Was sitting on the steps of my town and crafting some custom orders with NS Layers/Shards for a few people. Guy comes up and asks me if i make armor (mistake 1, as my Master AS tag was up). I tell him, "Go look on my vendor. I just stocked some presliced stuff today."
So he goes and looks at my vendor and comes back going, "Hi. Can I get the chestplate and pants for 34k and this..." then opens a trade window and offers me: 34k, an interplanetary survey droid with 8 uses left (I have 5 crates of these, btw), and 3 pieces of stun armor by 3 other AS.
SoI tell him, "I can't use any of these."
"You can resell the armor on your vendor."
"Uh...I don't sell the work of other AS as mine. It's dishonest."
"Uh...I don't sell the work of other AS as mine. It's dishonest."
"Oh, well, what about this instead?" Offers me the droids again, an LE Repair droid, and a slice hound pet, plus 34k. I then explained to him why I priced things the way I do: I buy resources at a specific price, then add in an amount so I make 5% profit.
So he says, pointing to one of my guildmates, "She used to be in my guild. Can I get a discount?"
Then I was saved by my guildmates standing around watching.
