Just a few quick question(s), can NS layers be used by armorsmiths? Are they worth something? If so how much ?

In short:
Oh HELL yes.
I just made a composite helmet tonight. 5 8% base/-15 action, 5 7% base/-5 action, 5 6% base/-10 action layers, plus a -17/-17/-22 shard set. Helmet came to:
80% electric
76% Base
15/0/245 HAM
The only thing is, for things that take lots of layers and segments (composite chestplates,helmets, pants) we need large amounts of them. A comp chestplate requires 3 sets of5 identical layers, if you use layers in every slot.
As to worth, I believe base layers are 3%/-5 action, and I pay around 7k per for them. 8% base I pay around 25k or more, plus a bonus for large (6+ identical) drops.

ya ive made alot of NS comp... usually I use janta hides too
got a 90% NS comp helm iwth 243 Ham.... (used shard on that) and several 90% ns/janta boots and gloves. I hope to make a full suit some day.
ive made 4 NS chestplates so far but all have encum sliced 
usually aim for 75% or higher base some good odds for a 90% slice

Well looted 10 of the same serial... and 1 exceptional (yellow color)
so thats around 70k worth ?

Yellow doesn't really tell me anything. What;s the stats?

well, since the title of this post is NS layers, can I be the one to point out that these are not NS layers and are infact NS shards

I used an uber shard, 1 10% layer and a couple of light stun layers to make a bracer/bicep set with 74% base, 9% stun and 23/14/0 HAM.
Got them sliced, enc, enc, enc, eff... one piece at 90% the other three with under 20 HAMs.
