OK I keep hearing about who composite getting hit with the biggest nerf ever.
I'm all for making all types of armor useful but is it that the layers will be taken out or what?
All they would need to do is take the base increase out of layers and make them only affect the special protection. That way at best you'dwith a 60% base (that takes damn good resources ) at best you'd get an 80% electric 80% of one thing and 75% on another.
So what are they doing to other armor types?
Is it going to be worth it?
Are you going to be better off without armor at all?
Really I don't think the problem is composite armor, it's buffs. I remember when almost no one could wear a full suit of composite let alone any with a layer in it.
I'm sure armor will still be needed for certain templates BUT!!! I have understood snipets from certain correspondents posts (urging to speak but not break NDA) that in some cases, X template un-armored character will be able to defeat X template armored character. So if that means anything I don't know. Just saying that not all people will still have use for armor, or super resistant armor. I'm sure encumberances/resists are going to be factored in heavily and depending on your template, you'll be able to see which armor type fits you best.
Then again that statement could've been speaking out of his a$$. Or could simply mean (by our standards) Master PVP template un-armored vs. Noob in crappy bone armor.
Basically, no one has a freaking clue except for the "select few" so all we can do is monitor these little snipets of (possibly false information designed to confuse us) and wait. They've said buffs are going to be rebalanced, and in another post, that a lot of the CU is going to be numbers and not necesarrily new content and features.
