Thread: Question from a customer today.....

Had a conversation with a customer today who wanted a special set of composite made using voritor scales as well as kinetic layers. His stated goal was a suit that was 80% kinetic, energy in the mid to high 70's, and base as high as possible.

I talked to him about what he hunted and why he wanted such a suit, and he said that he wanted a good set for when he did missions against npc's who either fight with energy or kinetic attacks. I suggested that slicing might be more what he wanted, but he was against this as the wrong type of slice wouldn't give the resists he wanted at the levels he wanted.

So here I am fellow armorsmiths, wanting to do this for a good customer, but not quite sure how to proceed. With the 4-5% kinetic from the scales I could reduce the encumbrance of my layers, or I could use 2 kinetic and one energy with higher specials, or who knows..........................................

If you have any suggestions I would love to here them.

Thanks

do the scales have any energy resist?

a lot of masters can get the base pretty close to 70%, how high have you gotten base? I can get 64% without trying to hard on it, you might try to do this, with the scales andone extra energy layer

Sorry I didn't put that in but yes they do. If memory serves me the scales have 4-5% kinetic and 3-4 energy.

I have found the HAM / resist ratio of Voritor Scales not good - better off just upping the layers a little....

Voritor segments are for bone armor. Scales are enhancers. The only thing I ever use them in is Ubese since I can't hit 80% with just the one layer.

1 14% energy layer, and 2 ~8%-10% kinetic layers

Then max quality on everything else.... you should be able to nail it.... only prob is enc is high. But unfortunately unless you have some good loot like shards or extremely good krayt loot I dont see you hitting what he needs in the way of resistance.

Thanks all for the comments and suggestions. I plan on trying to convince him that this isn't the way to go.

by using 4%base 5%kinetic layers, and experimenting the adv comp segments to max base then using the last two points into kin, im able to get 80%kin, 76%elec, 62%base. resources i have arent THAT good (which is obvious since the total ham is in the 900's - per stat)

shouldnt be too hard to do, especially if you have good resources. imo the voritor scales arent necessary.
