Thread: Trying to get a feel for what armorsmiths need

I am trying to decide if I want to be an armorsmith, or if not, maybe sell resources to armorsmiths. To make good composite, what resources will I need the most of, and what quantities? If I want to sell the resources to other people, what prices should I be able to get, or on the flipside, what prices should I be willing to pay if I try to sell the resources on the open market. swgcraft.com, it has lists of all professions and what they need.
Well screw you to. I gave you a website that lists EXACTLY what all the armors use and how much. I don't know what more you want.

Umm... yeah that's not a very helpful post. What I am looking for is what armorsmiths actually USE in the game, not just what it takes to be an armorsmith. Example: just because armorsmiths CAN make bone armor, that doesn't mean that they make a lot of it. I'm looking to be a top-notch armorsmith or a top-notch armorsmith resource supplier, so actual feedback from active armorsmiths (preferably on Tempest, so I have information that applies SPECIFICALLY to my server) would be very helpful.

Well, someonecould give you a list of what resources go into composite and ubese, but it would be easier for you to just look at the schematics on swgcraft.com and look for those resources with high OQ/SR.
Along with the resources for the advanced segments and armor, you could also look for the resources that are used in kinetic, stun and possibly energy layers. That's the most popular stuff.
Highest in demand is usually the hides, they seem to grab the highest average prices, unless of course you have someinorganics that are the best of the best on your server. But from your post it sounds like you'll be grabbing whatever you see as it spawns, so just look for the popular stuff and harvest that.

Here is a link to a post where Sixpack (nathan118) has made a great excel file for Armorsmiths to use. It lists all the resources and amounts for each type and calculations etc. Very valuable tool even if you are just looking to supply armorsmiths with resources. It is a zipped file and not to big so you can view it pretty quick and will always have a reference on your computer instead of going through pages here or on the internet.
