I've noticed that there appears to be 2 types of armour Ubese & Composite. Now last time I checked there was also Bone, Mabari , Chitin & Padded.

Now obviously any other solution to the ridicolous glut of composite (You ever stood in Kadaara & counted how many suits of black & red compo there are ) would require a major redesign, so heres a plan, do what they did for Chef .

Give mods to armour wearers approiriate to the type. Possibly only when wearing full suits.

i.e. Bone - Possibly some kind ofScouting benefit, mebbe a bonus to intimidate .

Mabari - yet again no idea, anti- knock down or something since it looks kinda melee oriented.

Chitin - A melee resist or something insecty ? Possibley terrain nav (But frankly its just weird )

Tantel - Energy resistant armour my bum, What about a ranged bonus & due to the obvious light appearance a dodge mod or something.

Padded - Hmm comfy, a stunned resist or something similar.

Composite - A boost to Poison/disease/flame enviromental effects since these are sealed suits, but at a cost of manuvererability to dodge/counterattack/block& awareness.

Id like input to put this to the Devs since armour has turned PvP into an item based event. You armoursmiths might actually get to make something else than compo

p.s. im not doing this just cause the idea of a Jedi in fullcompo is an anathema honest injun

Interesting idea's not sure if those exactabilites to armourare ideal, however the idea itself to try and give armour some more balancing qualities is something i feel is needed.

It was pointed out that not all species can wear full suits of certain armour, so possibley a-1 orwhatever per piece in whatever abilities the armour possesses.

I think its a nice idea, but I thinki the lack of response comes from that this is a consumer bases request and not a crafter based request. I spend 75% of my time in game keeping up wioth shifting resorces to make composite, Ubese and Now Wook. If I was to try and keep 8 different types of armor stocked I think I would go nuts. That being said, I totally agree that composite armor is far too common in our universe. Its kinda funny when you go to coronet and it looks like a power ranger convention

The thing is, they can't do this, essentially it would be adding bio tissues into armor, and that would make armor "too powerful"

I have a similair post to this, and this is a valid kind of argument. I think the big reason why we don't get a lot of response is because most AS don't want to bother with the extra hassle of making other suits than Comp, unless they are as good, and as easy to make as Comp currently is. Unfortunate really, as I am getting tired of making the same thing, and would like a realistic challenge, instead of these "quest" armors, which always require far too much involvment from combat classes....

See... I don't see it as a problem really. People always complain "I'd have to stock 8 different armors" and such. I see it as an opportunity to specialize. No one said you have to have all eight types. Pick 2 or 3 you like and do them. I'm sure if they are all good, they would sell. The problem is getting them all to a level where they are balanced and desireable. That's the big question... how do we do that?

Reminds me like in D2 with "sets" youd get all the rare items of a 9peice set and youd get major bonus's, slight bonus for 8/9 and 7/9 nothing for one or two pieces i like the idea. Also with all these sets of armor you would think they would slow you down a bit

I have been hearing arguments forever on how to best diversify armor wearer's armor. I mean, I never see anyone in Tantel armor.... ever. Chitin and Bone are pretty rare. Ubese and Composite I see all the time, and of course RIS is the bigfoot of armor. (padded is also conveniently not worn as often as it used to be). The solution is in making them all useful for different things. The problem is, more often than not, you would never need to wear anything other than composite because it protects against so many different kinds of damage. Maybe increase a few of its vulnerabilities, and for the love of god, please make the monsters, (not just the npcs) do different kinds of damage. Why can't certain monsters secrete a chemical attack that acts like Liquid nitrogen? (cold based damage)... Just an idea.
