I think most of the PSG components (Power conditioner, energy converter, shield generators etc)can be experimented on, even though the end product doesn't have any sort of functionality rating.
I'm assuming that they work the same way as synth cloth in that the component quality doens't affect the final product.
Was just wondering if anybody had done some empiracal testing to prove or disprove that theory.

It's been done.
It's been posted.
Make PSG subcomponents (both Master Artisan ones and Armorsmith ones) with your crap/grind stuff.

I have noticed that a quaility number now appears. Before it did not appear. That makes me question wether it matters now or not.

you can't even experiment on Armorsmith-subcomponents. so how should they matter?

Ifigured the armoursmith components (particle shield gens etc) wouldn't matter because they have no attributes, but I would have thought the master artisan components would add to it... here I am trying to find the best quality resources I can for those bits.... hmmm doh!
Sounds like some testing is in order.

Imagine if they did matter?
Man psg's wouldn't be worth making at all. Hell, they're hardly worth making now, considering the time investment required in making em (gotta run an equipment factory to make and store the M.Art components, + a factory or 3 for all the AS components, 6 components total) and how little people will pay, if the components needed high qual materials you wouldn't have any psg's made at all.
