Why can I not find any hide anywhere?
I can't find any in the amounts I need on vendor anywhere, if anyone knows a place DEFINATELY stocked then please help me lol, I'm having to get my guild mates to go hunting for me because I don't have enough SP to get scout, if only I had an alt lol

out of the millions of units of hides i have purchased in the past 2 months there has only been 10k that i purchased off of a vendor and that was to make some backpacks.
Start developing a list of hunters and keep them as busy as you can afford. I generaly send out a mailer or 2 a week to my hunters and minners on the hides, harvestables, and loot im purcahsing and the prices im paying for them. this keeps those hunters comming back to you for more work and a stedy cash flow and alows you to really stock up on the good hides at reasonable prices.

I do beleive there is a real shortfall in the game economics where hide is concerned. There is always a shortage of it, everywhere you go. That is why no one stocks any, not of any good quality anyways.
Personally, I would like the requirements on hide reduced for armors by at least 25%. Either increase the amount of hide each animal gives by at least 50% or make them 'farmable' or have synthetic variants made available.
I hate this part of armorsmith, and this is one of the reasons why armorsmith is so expensive all round, especially starting up. Hide is so damned hard to come by, even if you are gathering it yourself, and with guildmates. It's simply not worth it spending 70% of my armorsmithing time gathering the meager amounts of hide I can so that I can work up some armor. I mean really, you'd think a rancor would have enough hide to cover SEVERAL people, not just 2 parts of him!

you will never see many hide, meat or bone vendors because they can not keep anything in stock, unless its small stacks of overpriced junk
i put up 300k dath carn meat last night on my vendor @ 40 cpu. dath carn meat on interpid right now is uber and its easy to get (i am harvesting 72k per buff set). it sold out in 20 mins.

I would suggest to go to endor (especially if you're a newer AS and don't have lots of hide ready) and hunt mantigrues for wooly hide, and go to dant and hunt rancors for leathery hide. As long as the OQ+SR is decent (above 1000) then you will only be looking about a 2-4% decrease in rating. For super high end smiths, this may be a lot, but for lower smiths it isn't much and you can cut down the costs of making armor hugely with easily being able to get large amounts of hide in little time. In four hours on endor I was able to pull in 20k units of wooly hide, and 2 hours on dath I was able to pull in just as much. In a week's time you can easily have a 100k units of hide, which will last most smiths a good while. Which is why when it's good, I spend most of my time on endor going to town on those mantigrues.

Theres ONLY ONE animal dropping Wooly Hides on Talus, talk about a HUGE game design flaw. Please add more animals with wooly hides on Talus. Atm this is the best wooly in our Galaxy, poor paralopes.

You can post an add on your trade board – buying X hide for Y credits, sell to Z vender. That’s my favorite way of doing business. I only have to work when I need a lot of Y’s.![]()
