If your base RIS piece is 53% and you use a 13% NS Layeryournew base is now ~66%. Ifyou add a 2%b / 13% Kinetic & 2%b / 13% Acid would that equal to a 70% Base / 80% Kinetic / 80% Acid RIS piece ? I have not worked with RIS to know the experimentation on it.
Basically I am trying to make a good RIS piece that does not have an interwoven segment.
All tips, suggestion, and previous experience you can share is appreciated.

Normal RIS segments can only take 2 layers, so you can't do what you are talking about without the interwoven segment schmatic. Also getting a unincreased base of 53% seems to me highly improbable.

the 13% extra frin the NS layer is correct.
but if you add a 13% acid layer I belive it stays 13% (not surten about it) also you can add Krayt scales in it what adds more acid to the piece

sorry...but acid starts at "0,"...very unlikely you'll get it to 80%
The best you can do is pop in a good krayt scale (maybe a sharnaff plating...but I haven't seen many with very high acid), which of course means an effect slice later will do no good

Its up to you really, "best" is relative. If you want the least vulnerabilites go with good kinetic and acid layers. If you want the best stats that are there go with high level NS layers and janta hides.
The interwoven seg is nice though, you might seriously consider trying to get one, it makes RIS like you are trying to make much easier.

I got 57% RIS Base without any Layers or enhancements. The Kinetic wasn't great though(These were the boots I made for the quest, so I wasn't using great resources either).

Well my first piece was:
R.I.S Helmet
Condition: 40133/40133
Sockets: 3
Special Protection:
Kinetic: 80%
Effectiveness:
Energy: 71%
Blast: 71%
Heat: 71%
Cold: 71%
Electricity: 71%
Vulnerabilities:
Stun / Lightsaber / Acid
HAM:
63/63/212
I am going to do the next piece with more base less Kinetic. I think I overkilled it. I used 2x 2%/13% Kinetic Layers and a 4% janta hide. The next one will be more base, less kinetic, less HAM, just not sure how I willdesign it yet.

Piece 2:
R.I.S Leggings
Condition: 39720
Sockets: 2
Special Protection:
Kinetic: 61%
Effectiveness:
Energy: 74%
Blast: 74%
Heat: 74%
Cold: 74%
Electricity: 74%
Vulnerabilities:
Stun / Lightsaber / Acid
HAM:
98/199/47
For those that are learning about R.I.S these experiments may help:
This time I used 2x 4%base / 5% Kinetic 12/12/12 layers and 1x 4% janta hide. I have now learned that the experimentation of the Kinetic does not increase as Electricity does in Composite. This is a valuable lesson for now I know that I need more Kinetic in the segment in order to hit the 80% Kinetic in the piece.
