This is just an Idea I had to make armours slightly more Diverse....
1) Allow Crafting of Factional Armours, perhaps talking to a recruiter in a base to allow you access to the Factional Crafting Station (Yup.. something I made up!).
2) Remove all the current base and special resists on armour (with each armour starting with 0% Base), and use the "Layered System" outlined below...
3) Allow Base Resists (From the Layers) to resist everything except Lightsabre.
4) Keep Hard Cap at 80% for special Protections.
5) Remove the STUN damage type, and convert Jawa Ion Rifles to Cold, and Batons to Electrical. Add a % chance of the ++Stunned++ result when using these weapons.
6) When Slicing armour, allow it to effect the underlying Base resist of a Special Resist. (Not sure if it already does this!)

Layers
Each Armour segment will be allowed a Number of Layers as listed below
Bone 1
Mabari 2
Chitin 3
Tantel 4
Ubese 5
Padded 6
Composite & Factional 7
Ris / Mandalorian 8
Advanced Segments get and extra 1 Layer.
Replace Stun layer (which keeps it at Master Level) with....
Lightsabre : Cortosis Siliclastic Ore, Gallinorean Rainbow Gemstone, Dathomirian Fibreplast
Allow the special resists of Layers to reach 25% @ 100% Experimentation
Allow the base resists of layers to reach 6% @ 100% Experimentation
Keep HAM levels as they are (will encourage people to use points to reduce HAM costs, especially with the bigger armours)
________________________________________
Using this system, Base CAN reach 76% with perfect resources and perfect slice, and Specials will still hit 80%
it allows more diversity, because even Mabari (With Advanced Segment) would be able to hit 75% resist in ONE field.
Advanced Composite, Factional, Ris & Mandalorian Armours could potentially hit 80% in all 8 Fields.

You've managed to triple the resources required, turn my life into a living factory-run hell, make the segment and final combines meaningless, and reduce the overall effectiveness of armor all in one stroke.
I will grant, the more layers, the more customizeable the armor.

...but other than that...

I would hang myself on my factorys. That workload would be INSANE.
But...at least your thinking. You missed this time though.
Better luck next time.

I think I'd die if I had to make that many layers. They just need to change the hard cap on the RIS layer, or give it a better forumla to make it more useful.
