I logged in this morning to craft an armorweave chestplate for a guild mate because it is a "stylish" armor, and not 1 time did i get a great success. i am in a research center and have never had this much trouble even with segment enhancers in composite. so my real question is, why can i craft composite, which is theoretically harder to craft, (thats why only a master can craft it) do i rarely get less than a great success, but when i attempt to craft the low level armor (armorweave) i rarely get a great success?

I know EXACTLY what you mean. The fail rate during experimentation for maberi is insane, especially on segments. You have to experiment in smaller numbers. You can't experiment 8 boxes at a time or anything. I experiment by 4's and still rarely get an amazing. I get a decent number of greats though.

I'll toss my hat into this, too.
I get more "good" and "marginals" when crafting Mabari than any other armor. It's ludicrous!

Armorweave segments have diminishing returns too, even with 12 points I can't experiment the base-line fully most times.

Jaato, could we possibly get an explination for this? why is it so damn hard to get great success on armorweave setments, advanced or otherwise, with or without segment enhancers? i burned 6 rancor hides and 5 janta hides both with 6% base attempting to craft an advanced segment to put in an armorweave chestplate. if its so hard for a master armorsmith to craft, why not move it to master, and move comp down, since i rarely get less than a great success. if it helps, i am only a 10pt as atm.
Thanks

Always experiment 1 point at a time. Alsoif you pick up force crafting experiment tree you never fail while experimenting
With 10 pts I was able to get 7 amazing success and 3 great success when I tried advanced mabari today while standing outside in a research center city.

I was trying to make some advanced Mabari today (just to see how low the Hams can get!)
I got LOADS of good successes, and some really weird results.
One result was using 8 points in one go, getting an AMAZING result, and it only going up 45 points instead of 72, leaving a 3% segment instead of an 8% one.

I'm getting a thought here.
I think perhaps mabari construction is bugged, but since it is made usually be novice armorsmiths, who don't know much about stats and experimenting, it has yet to be brought to the attention of the developers.

good success in my eyes are useless, it makes for less desireable armor in the end. if i get anything less than a great success, i don't even let the item finish, i just click the "x" and move on to the next.
Jaato, any comments on this?

Use 2-3 pointsat a time and you will get great successes.
At it was stated LONG! ago by the devs, master have a harder time making mabari (because it's a novice armor) than an actual novice will... The logic is completely lost on me, but it is possible to bypass by using just a few points at a time.

I brought it up before, and got flamed for it. I even got called an outright liar. It didn't fit someone else's theory, and therefore had to be wrong. I also stated flat out, that I had hit more than 30% kinetic unenhanced ( 32%). That person's pet theory was that 30% was max, so I must be a liar. Natalya, several people on Intrepid have ekaine bronzium. Add that to some of the great ditanium spawns we had, and I'll bet you can't max the base of the segment, even with 12 points, unless you get at least 1 , 4 point amazing. It also took me 12 points to max the final combine base. I got flamed for saying that as well, until another smith asked why they were having that same problem. I've collected some close to perfect resources on Chimaera, so it'll be interesting to see what I'm going to get there( going to have to borrow a 12 point suit now).
