Ok, I'm on my third ticket over this with the CSRs, and if they don't fix my problem with this one, I'm calling them on the phone tomorrow. This is an interesting situation for me. I didn't realize it was a problem until recently when some newer resources came out on my server. The problem is basically this: I can't achieve the same stats on composite armor using the exact same resources and expirementation techniques as other armorsmiths on my server.

I am a 12pt Armorsmith. I make stun layers with 3% Base and 12% stun. I use 3 of these on my advanced comp segmetns. The armor I get ends up with 36% stun. Other armorsmiths on my server are able to achieve 38% stun with the same resources, including another armorsmith in my guild who shares the same expirementation clothes with me.

Here is a list of the resources I am using

Ipeki Kammris Iron - 542 MA, 990 OQ, 998 SR, 906 UT

Irisium Vertex Crystalline Gemstone - 336 MA, 933 OQ, 944 SR, 997 UT

Ivif Crism Siliclastic Ore - 676 MA, 574 OQ, 303 SR, 236 UT

Oneroian Kiirium Steel - 48 MA, 944 OQ, 578 SR, 526 UT

Tima Colat Iron - 390 MA, 939 OQ, 796 SR, 782 UT

Durokeej Polysteel Copper - 962 MA, 944 OQ, 782 SR, 771 UT

Enoc Endor Wooly Hide - 140 MA, 805 OQ, 944 SR, 799 UT

Bemoism Class 2 Solid Petrochem Fuel 991 OQ

Evagiris Hollinium Intrusive Ore 485 MA, 1000 OQ, 895 SR, 805 UT

Omnineesenium Phrik Aluminum 975 MA, 912 OQ, 790 SR, 772 UT

Eteip Naboo Fiberplast 618 MA, 903 OQ, 957 SR, 631 UT

Oecike Beyrllius Copper 662 MA, 934 OQ, 443 SR, 480 UT

My expirementation process goes as such. All expirementation results in Great Success.

Stun Layers

Initial Assembly yields 18% - 23% - 23% expiremental values

4 points on Exp Quality up to 51%

8 points on Exp Resistance up to 79%

This creates stun layers with 3% base, 12% stun, 16/16/16 Encumberance

Advanced Composite Segments

Initial Assembly yields 18% - 23% - 23%

9 points on Exp Quality up to 83% (maxed)

3 points on Exp Durability up to 39%

This creates Advanced Composite Segments with 30% Base, 36% Stun Protection, 8% Electrical Protection, 57/57/59 Encumberance

Composite Gloves

Initial Assembly yields 19% - 25% - 22%

9 points on Exp Quality up to 89% (maxed)

3 points on Exp Durability up to 40%

This creates Advanced Composite Gloves with 66% Base, 36% Stun Protection, 75% Electrical Protection, 78/76/80 Encumberance

The other Armorsmiths on my server use this same technique and are able to achieve 38% Stun Protection on their Advanced Composite Armor. Something is not working properly with the equations to make my Stun Protection pop up past 36%. I think it has to do with the decimal values in the Assembly of the Composite Armor that is not yielding the correct results. On my first ticket, the CSR told me that it was due to the fact that I was a Zabrak, and that Humans got a +15 bonus to expirementation. The second CSR told me to submit a bug report. Like that will ever get anything solved. If anybody else has had a problem similar to this, pelase let me know if you were able to get it solved. Also, if any of you other veteran armorsmiths out there can run these resources statistics through any kind of programs you have to generate results, please let me know if you can determine what is going on. I will list my Weighted Resources Values here too.

Stun Layers

50% OQ + 50% SR = 790.333

50% OQ + 50% MA = 675.166

50% OQ + 50% UT = 772.667

Adv. Composite Segments

50% OQ + 50% SR = 830.5

50% OQ + 50% MA = 704.5

50% OQ + 50% UT = 817.667

Adv. Composite Gloves

50% OQ + 50% SR = 864.98

50% OQ + 50% MA = 750.08

50% OQ + 50% UT = 810.78

The thing that sucks the most about this whole problem is that it is so intricate. I am very pessimistic about whether any of the CSRs is intelligent enough to look at the situation and even be able to comprehend what is happening. You'd think that people who are paid to know the game would know it better than the people who just play it at their leisure.

Alright Armorsmith 1 o 1

I am MAS for over a year so I will share a secret that makes the diffrence.

Here is why u don't get the same results and how u should do to get it.

basics:

12 points can be potentially 15 points couse an amazing success means a 25% bonus so if u get an amazin using 4 points u actually get the result for using 5 points (or in some case u save a point)

The most important part in armor is the layer.

A 12 stun 3% base layer can look the same but end up with 2% more stun and even base on ur final armor.

So i'll give u an example to make it easy:

U have a layer u have the 3 bars in witch u experiment now u forget about integrity (upper bar) when we talk about stun layers

U go and experiment 4 points in ur special resitence (lower bar) until u get at least one amazing success and then put 4 more points in it until u get it full (if u got an amazing on the first 4 points a great result should fill the bar), make sure ur lower bar is full for 38% stun u need to get it at 81 % if u can't don't worry but make sure its all full.

Now the hard part is to get an amazing on the base (the middle bar) with ur last 4 points. that will grant u a 55% experimentation on that bar. It will still be a 3/12 layer but when u will make a segment with those u will get a 29 or 30% base segment with 37% stun.

so basically ur layer should be a 19% 55% 81%

that will make u get a 38/73/66 stun armor.

Bare in mind that in order to get those results u may need to try a few tens of times at least, using experimentation food and being in a research center having citizenship in that city will also help. Also the end result in ur layer will be 100% the same as ur actual layers, they will look the same at stats but the segments will be better so will be the armor.

have fun crafting

There isn't anything wrong with your server. You simply are not experimenting theexperimental resistance line on the stun layer far enough. That extra 4% or 5% that you can probably get out of that line will add just enough to the hidden decimal to hit that 2% you are missing.

What you need to do is one of two things: Dump 9 points instead of 8 into the experimental resistance line on the stun layer OR (and this is the most costly, but will yield the highest results) put 7 points in and get an "amazing" instead of a great when you experiment on the experimental resistance line and throw in one more point to max out the line on your second experimentation attempt. Doing the later method will make your 8 points have the same result as using 9 points with "great" results. More than likely this is what your friend and all the peers on your server are doing.

Oh, and that response is kinda scary...the bonus is for artisan experimentation.

*looks around sheepishly*

You guys hit the nail on the hammer and now I feel like a n00b. This is my second time around being an armorsmith (this time on a new toon) and I guess I forgot some of the tricks of the trade. I knew that there were those decimal values that popped up the special protection from layers, but I guess I never noticed that getting past the tiers just a little bit was what did the trick. I'd always see it happen when I was making 80% kinetic armor, I'd get a little bit extra kinetic protection on my segments then what the layers should have added up to. The new resources that have spawned on our server is what has allowed us to get past 36% base, but I just didn't realize that you needed to take the layers past that tier so that the system thinks the layers have 12+% stun protection.

Guess I probably made some CSRs mad when I kept submitting tickets. Just made me mad when one of them told me it was because I was a zabrak, when I know that no species has a bonus to armor crafting.

Thanks again for the help, I'm gonna go hide in a corner now.
