I rarely see anyone for the bristly hide at all. Just remember that some hides are planet specific for some armor types and that matters because some of them may not be as good as the overall stuff.
For example. Rori wooly is needed in RIS, but the best stuff on Shadowfire was 923 OQ and 595 SR. Now most smiths would not use this in composite, which takes any type of wooly, but for RIS, this is the best.
Does that make any sense? It may look bad, but because of what it is and what it's used for, its not. I know i post on the trade forums when a planet specific spawn comes up that no one would normally look at. So keep your eyes on your trade forums.

Hi gang,
I am a Ranger and get contracted for hunting all kinds of stuff. I thought I would go to you, the "Armorsmith Public," to get a feel for what kind of resources you look for regularly and what kind of stats you want me to keep an eye out for. Knowing this will help me serve my employers even better.

OQ/SR Effect resists.
Malleability for Encumberance.
Wooly hide is the most demanded for composite. And leathery hide for the Ubese Armor
But after the combat revamp bristley and scaley hides might be good to have in store.

Wow ya know I come to learn about things for armorsmith. And one out of 5 posts has someone complaining that this post does not beling here. I really dont understand that train of thinking. He had a spacific armorsmith question. Where better to go then here? Its not like he came in here telling about an ubber sale on meds. That I could understant, or even trying to sell something.

I don't think that was meant as a complaint. He's simply stating that by watching what your servers AS's are paying good money for on the trade forums will give you some idea of what is worthwhile to collect. For specifically named resources like the Rori wooly hide, it may not be something that you would normally flag as usable if it was 909oq/500sr, that might be something you would pass up harvesting normally, but if it's a server best for your particular server your local AS's will know and will be hiring out people to collect it on the trade forums. Unfortunately for specific resources like this the AS forum simply has no idea what would be considered good on your server.
however for general gathering keep in mind that AS's typically use the following
OQ/SR - 50%/50% to determine the base resistance
MA - 100% to determine Encumbrance.
Key ranger items at the moment are Wooly hide and leathery hide though for some specific armors you will need specific resources like avian bone or rori wooly hide etc... If your looking to farm for a specific AS on your server you may want to find out what his specialty is(ie composites, ubese, padded, etc...) and concentrate on the resource types he needs. If your looking to supply a smith who has a strong wookiee base and needs wookiee armor you will need to find out from him what kind of specific items(bones will be used here) he needs and what is considered good stats for your server. Hope this info helps, but in the AS forum we can only help guide you on generic items, for anything specific it will be dependant on your server. Anyhides/boneswith 900oq/900sr/900ma or better I would suggest gathering. Like mentioned above Wooly and Leathery are currently what's in demand but with the CURB coming soon the others may become very valuable and I would suggest harvesting them if you get a spawn with all 900+ stats on them.

it had nothing to do with it not belonging here moron i was telling him to take hunting contracts from his forum trade, and spellcheck is a good thing when you write as you do
